Remember this? Well Stewart has shifted his attacks to Cramer, a much easier target then Santelli (who has actually been consistent in his beliefs). Anywho, they are facing off tonight. I thought some of you might be interested. So tune in to Comedy Central @ 23:00 EST tonight.

Jim Cramer gets some advice from Martha Stewart, calls Jon Stewart his 'idol'

As anticipation builds for tonight’s showdown between CNBC pundit Jim Cramer and “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, Cramer visited another Stewart to get some tips about how to take on the comedian.

“This is killing me,” Cramer said during today’s edition of “The Martha Stewart Show.” “My kids only know I have a show because Jon Stewart is skewering me. ‘Dad’s got a show! Holy cow!’”

The former hedge fund manager admitted he was “a little nervous” about his appearance tonight on “The Daily Show,” which comes after the two men have exchanged sharp retorts about CNBC’s coverage of the financial meltdown.

On Wednesday night, Jon Stewart hyped Cramer’s appearance as “the inevitable consummation of this largely manufactured battle between a man who makes people laugh for a living and whatever people think I do.”

“How bad is it going to be?” Cramer asked Martha Stewart today.

“You should be nervous,” she replied.

“Is he going to kill me?” he asked with a laugh.

“He’s fast as lightning,” she responded.

“I’m slow as molasses,” Cramer said.

“Ah, no you’re not,” she assured him. “But I would take the banana cream pie we are going to make a little later on. You can either feed it to him if he calms down or you can throw it at him.”

The domestic diva professed her admiration for Jon Stewart, saying that “he does what Twittering does in a way, because he’s reaching a vast audience that never, never, never paid attention to the news before. You know, college kids. But rather than getting always news, they’re getting commentary.”

“But that’s what I try to do,” Cramer said. “The reason why it’s been so hard for me, the attacks, is that I early on I patterned my show off of his, which is that you can do an entertainment business show. And then to be suddenly attacked by a guy that’s your idol makes it difficult.”

“Well, you tell him all that tonight,” Martha Stewart replied. “I can’t wait to see this. Oh, boy.”

“I mean, he’s going to be standing there giving me the business, I’m going to have to fight back,” Cramer said. “I’m not a doormat. Do I impress you as a doormat?”

“No way,” she said. “That’s why I’m going to watch. That’s why everybody in the world is going to watch tonight.”

I hope its going to be good tv. Cramer is quick so this could be really funny. Did you watch Cramer on Colbert? with the cute kittens in the back ground and stuff, Cramer seemed to be a good sport about it. One thing is for sure these guys are pumping up their appearance factor - their agents must be swooning right now.

BTW when is Maher v Coulter.... Maher is pretty smart, when Jay Leno would interview him on the tonight show he would alwys be miles ahead of him, and you think Coulter is that much smarter than Maher.... I'd like to see that.

If Ann Coulter is intelligent, then why does she say so many stupid as hell things?

Aside from the angle that Boondocks once mentioned (saying stupid shit to sell books), I can't see much intelligence in her approach.

I'd feel the same way about her even if I was a Republican, because honestly, she's an embarassment to conservatism.

That was something I wanted to see happen to CNBC in general. CNBC really acts like a talk shop. they really do cross that boundary from reporter to entertainer to infomercial host.

I kind of feel bad for Cramer except then I remember that the CNBC retards like Kudlow and Dennis Kneale do that all the time to people that they disagree with. Those A$$holes literally yell over the people they invite onto the show. I really can't stand it when a guy is about to make a point they shout over him to prevent his view point. Here is a piece of advice to those retards, if you're going to invite someone on with a different view point, let them make their point otherwise you look like an asshole and you've just wasted the interview and my time... What are they chicken$hits that can't win their viewpoint in an intelligent conversation, besides aren't they supposed to be reporters and interviewers and not cheer leading infomercial twats. And when they do all this there is usually a airhead money honey laughing like its some joke to shout over top a person that they invited on for the interview, talk about being like a rude jerry springer show. I remember during the presidential election CNBC had a train of guys coming through and they were all ragging on Obama and talking up McCain, it was so bad that I thought they were actually violating equal time. Yah, CNBC is a real POS chicken $hit outfit.

CNBC really does bear a lot of blame for not reporting on the impending economic collapse and in fact encouraged the bubble. Too bad they aren't being investigated. They have hedge fund managers on shows who talk up stuff, and you gotta know that they are playing those stocks for the bump or sag that is caused by the people listening to them. IF a few of the CNBC crowd were lead away in cuffs, then things might change, they might even start investigative reporting, wouldn't that be a shock.

Anyway that's my rant and the way I see it. CNBC you deserve a lot more than what Jon Stewart did to you but at least its a start.

EDIT here is a sample video of what I'm tallking about with kudlow and kneale. Kudlow and Kneale are twats You can skip to minute 4:40 into the interview... The last minute is especially ridiculous. I think these guys are angling for jobs on Fox.

Jon Stewart was polite compared to these guys.

He suggests all hedge fund managers do the same. "No one else in the world would ever admit that, but I could care. I am not going to say it on TV," he quips in the video. He also calls Wall Street Journal reporters "bozos" and says behaving illegally is okay because the SEC doesn't understand it anyway…

On falsely creating the impression a stock is down (what he calls "fomenting"): "You can't foment. That's a violation… But you do it anyway because the SEC doesn't understand it." He adds, "When you have six days and your company may be in doubt because you are down, I think it is really important to foment."

It was like Cramer was being scolded in the principles office..lol. I give him credit for admitting his imperfections and saying that he was going to try and change the way he presents his advice.
