Fuck sake yesterday afternoon i'm sitting drinking cocktails chatting to beautiful Spanish senoritas on Playa del Sol in Barcelona basking in glorious sunshine & three hours later i'm stood freezing in shirty weather while the car is getting searched in Antrim on the way back to my house... what a pile of shite to come home to.
You sir are a tube. We did'nt get "pwned" last time. Surely "Pwned" would have meant a complete withdrawl of British Forces from NI and a uniting of the provinces with the south or is your version of "pwned" different to my version of "pwned"???usmarine wrote:

My condolences to the family of the lads from 38 Reg that were murdered and a speedy recovery to the other squaddies and the delivery men that were injured. Not a good way for a unit to start a tour.
By all accounts the majority of Ireland does'nt want to return to this sort of thing. I hope this is an isolated incident and the murderers are brought to a swift justice and the troubles don't return.
Well it was the Real IRA and not the provisional IRA, and also SF have pledged to get to the bottom of this. So, for all intensive purposes, the official parties are doing what they should be doing (not starting another violent campaign).
Not the first time you have jibed at the British got defeated. There where no winners. No one won. It was compromise on both sides that brought about peace.usmarine wrote:

The only way you would agree that the Brits could have "won" was by bombing half of Belfast with F16s killing innocents and creating more terrorists. You seam to think that's working in Palestine and Iraqi. Is that the best way to do things looking at the results?
The Brits knew after decades, that trying to defeat a guerrilla army with a stand up army wouldn't work. They tried to tell the US planners that in the run up to the Iraqi war and where ignored. The Brits could never have defeated the IRA. The US with F18s and Apaches and some other shinny toys wouldn't have been able to do it either. Compromise is the only way forward in this kinda situation.
The Brits talked with Jerry Adams a Co to find a compromise, the US talks to Muqtada al-Sadr and Co to the same aim and peace seams to be getting closer. So the US is being pwned too according to your logic.
One of the reasons the war went on so long was many Americans, who didn't actually understand the true nature of the conflict were blindly supporting & sending money across the Atlantic to fund it. I'd hoped that 9/11 might open some US eyes, but obviously not all of them.
temporary at best.JahManRed wrote:

and my saying what i said is reference to the a holes who said that for years about us. (rammunutter, etc)

A police officer has died following a shooting incident in Craigavon, County Armagh.
The incident is understood to have happened near Lismore High School at Brownlow.
Police came under attack while investigating suspicious activity near the school.
The attack follows the weekend murder of two soldiers outside an Army base in Antrim. The Real IRA said they were responsible.
Sappers Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot dead at Massereene Army base, Antrim.
The soldiers were killed as they accepted a pizza delivery at about 2120 GMT on Saturday.
Four other people, including two pizza delivery men - Anthony Watson, 19, from Antrim and a Polish man in his 30s - were injured in that attack.

These aren't your average joes to be fair. The IRA (if indeed this is related to the previous incident) have always had weapons, partly thanks to their brothers on your side of the pondusmarine wrote:

I sure hope the crown is able to protect his subjects. I wonder how these citizens got the guns? Perhaps they didn't realize that it was illegal and someone just needs to let them know.FatherTed wrote:

Ireland is in dire need of a public service anouncement or a new gun law that outlaws bullets.

Merged as per suggestion. Please keep it on topic.
Yeah because the general population stands a chance against some of the most advanced and professional paramilitary organisations in the world so long as they have guns....usmarine wrote:

Palestanians > Irish
So, I thought IRA had been defanged through the political process led by Sinn Féin?
What's the beef?
Why is this flaring up now?

this (well the soldier thing at least) isn't the proper ira, it's the real ira, a splinter group. As to why it's flaring up, no idea. Sucks though, one of my uncles already got stopped and his car turned over just traveling homeATG wrote:
