My ears hurt using them with most but the foam pieces. I would suggest trying the medium/larges, the foam compresses a lot.JoshP wrote:

Does a 9800 really need two fans? Surely the stock is good enough for something like that.

The foam is the best all round, I have used all of them for quite some time with all types of music; the foam definitely gets my vote. Plus I own the Se 530's and so thus supercede you alllll! Use a size that's slightly too big for your ear, squeeze it and compress it, put it gently inside your ear canal and let the foam naturally expand so that it fits snugly in yer lughole. Even if I got my Luxman M120A a little while ago, I actually "paid" (i.e. gave the guy the other amplifiers I had fixed for him) for my, finished recapping it, and got it installed today. It's sex. It's more than a little better than my old 30W sub amp.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
