I run mine with

Code:

-advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9 -gpu [gpu #]
I suppose you could drop -forceasm since there are no SSE optimizations in the GPU client. Force of habit I guess

-advmethods for new cores, -verbosity for more info in the logfile, -gpu for multi-gpu set-up

Any idea what's going on? My highest has been 700ppd.

I (think) I'm only running one core, remember.

Directory you installed to?

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home?

You can also check the run in box in the shortcut that's used to start the client

Yep, it's hung at that for 20 minutes. HD4850 is at 1753, but to be fair i'm not letting Fah use too much of it, heat concerns you see

post up some screenshots and the log files (pastebin them). 1.7k is a little on the low side for a HD4850. Bad WU maybe. Or the throttle. How are you throttling it? Dropping clocks, limited CPU?

75ppd is definitely wrong for the CPU client

CPU's gone to 145ish in the last hour

knocked the HD back because it was getting a bit too hot, right click on the gpu icon in systray>configure>advanced>useage %

I could run it at 100% all the time, but i'd have to ramp up the fan on the gpu to a pretty noisy level

CPU limit on the GPU then. Works well for the ATI cards

So how about the log life of the CPU?

Looks OK.

Must be a slow WU. No SSE on this one apparently.

For the future run the

Code:

-advmethods -forceasm -verbosity9
flags.

Also since you're running essentially 2 single threaded apps grab processlasso.
Force the affinity of fahcore_11 (GPU) to one core and all other fahcores to the other core. Might get you some slight improvements.

So just stick the tag to the end of the shortcut as per?

like

Target line should read

Code:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-x86\[email protected]" -advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9
If you run 32 bit OS it'll just be \Program Files\ without the (x86) bit

The run in line should read

Code:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Jamie Ward\Application Data\Folding@home-x86\"

Gaming rig just died. Expect downtime, and lots of it.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
