I do often wonder that when these cases appear on the internet. Surely the cops know there are cameras in police stations/jails/on the front of their cars. You'd think they'd at least have the sense to do their brutalising away from the camera.SgtHeihn wrote:

You seem to be doing the whole guilty until proven innocent a little yourself. But not to worry, we already know you're a massive hypocrite. And you never answered the question about whether you'd consider it acceptable treatment if she was your daughter.lowing wrote:

You want to criminalize the cops for not treating criminals with kid gloves. No thanks.
Or, I dunno, I am just guessing, but they are reacting to a situation at the moment. Probably reacting the same way we would given the same situation. However, since we charge cops to deal with the scum of the earth so we do not have to, it is easy to sit back and critize how they do it without giving a thought as to the circumstances surrounding it.ghettoperson wrote:

Did you watch the video? The circumstances surrounding what happened are pretty easy to see.
I can't answer that question, since no kid of mine is growing up to be a piece of shit. I have raised my kids to be respectful to themselves and to others. I am raising them to understand that in their lives, they hold all the cards and make their own lives as great or as miserable as they choose. I have raised them to know what choices they have in life and which oneslead to stabilty and prosparity and which lead to self destructionghettoperson wrote:

This girl is already guilty, she has history she is a problem.
Ahh so there is video as to teh verbal abuse from this kid or her actions upon initial arrest before she was brought into camera range?AussieReaper wrote:

Nice avoidance of the question, but anyway...lowing wrote:

So if your kids screw up in life and one day manage to get arrested, are you just going to say tough shit when they get the crap beaten out of them by cops? I'd like to think you possess some form of care towards your family.
Because a 15 year old swears at you, it's perfectly fine to beat her up.lowing wrote:

The cops aren't there to beat up young girls. That's what black people are for.usmarine wrote:

correct. but she needed a smack down.... like most teens these days.ghettoperson wrote:

The failing comes in that it was 3:45 a.m when this occurred. Who let's a 15 year old at at such a time?usmarine wrote:

I do care for my kids, which is why if they screw up I will not simply bail them out. IE. if arrested for DUI I promise you they will sit in jail. If they assaulted a cop and got ass whipped for it, I promise you I will be asking if the cop is ok before I tend to my son.ghettoperson wrote:

I meant in a historical sense, but yeah I can see the irony in that sentence as it stands alone.
Unlike you I don't think the cop was in the right, so I've got nothing to change my view of.lowing wrote:

I don't think the cop was right either and I have got nothing to change my views of as well.
I may have missed a crucial post here, but have you not just been arguing for the past 5 pages that the cop was completely justified to kick the shit out of her, and that cops should do this more often to people for the greater benefit of society?
EDIT: As for ignoring the question, I thought my answer was pretty clear. Like you, if they get a DUI they can go to jail, however if they throw their shoes at a cop and get their asses kicked I'm going to want to see some heads roll.

Nope, I said I am not ready to hang cops at every turn based on armchair quarterbacking by those with frame by frame 20/20 hindsight.ghettoperson wrote:

I said I give the cops the benefit of the doubt over the criminals they are trying to arrest.
I also said, cops deserve more latitude in dealing with the scum od society since they get second guessed in every situation and told what they shoulda done by those who were not there, don't want to be there, and could not handle being there themselves.
Lastly I said, if it turns out that a criminal gets a beat down, I can sleep just fine over it.
I don't see how anybody can possibly defend the cop in this situation.
This girl might've been the biggest punk on Earth, but I don't care. Nothing justifies that kind of response. Not even if she started hitting him. You are a fucking COP, you are not a vigilante. You don't get to beat the shit out of people. You went through the Police Academy for a reason.
They are not the judge, jury and executioners.

IN other words, cops are robots, you can treat the police anyway you want, shoot them stab them, spit on them, hit them and all they are allowed to do is cuff you and send you to trial. Sorry, not the real world. Cops are humans as well, and are privy to all the mistakes, emotions, pain and loss, that the rest of us face.Poseidon wrote:

i understand where you're coming from, but the whole point of them being cops is to use their best judgment at all times. you can't honestly say that this cop's actions were justified because his emotions got out of controllowing wrote:

No. Cops go through training. They're supposed to deal with situations like this with civility and through what their training told them to do. They were taught how to take down someone who was attacking them without BASHING THEIR FUCKING HEAD IN ON A CONCRETE WALL. And yes, that's EXACTLY what they're supposed to fucking do! Cuff you, read you your miranda rights, put you in holding and take you to trial. They're not fucking vigilantes!lowing wrote:

Cops are humans, but they've been trained to go against their instinct. But this wasn't even instinct. This was a cop with a history of bad behavior taking his anger out on the typical teenager who thinks nothing of authority. But I don't care if she's a neo-nazi. NOTHING could ever justify what he did unless she had a shotgun aimed at the cops or was doing something to threaten their lives. She kicked a FUCKING SHOE at them. And she looks like some 5'6" girl who weights 120 pounds.
Why don't we just let anyone we want become cops? Then your argument will work, because they truly will be "human". Until then and they eradicate Police Academies around the country, your argument is null and void.
So much for being some purveyor of the constitution, lowing. You're certainly one who believes in cruel and unusual punishment. Another of your arguments - debunked for being the bullshit that they are.

What the fuck.. He kicked her in the knee, punched her face, rammed her head into a wall, pulled her hair hard enough to fling her onto the ground, then while they were cuffing her he punched her head which would have made it hit the concrete floor... If that girl was me i'd having a lot of money right now.
Nope never said he was justified. I am more inclined to forgive a cop for a misjudgement when they are faced with 1000's of decisions as day, some of which are life altering. I am able to do this because a cop does not try and set out to do bad they have noble intentions and yet are human.phishman420 wrote:

A criminal who seems to get more sympathy on this forum, sets out to do bad and harm toward others. If I must sympathize with someone, it will always be the cop.
