We should've sent Rick to talk some sense into Congress before they signed this bill they didn't read ...

I bet MSNBC didn't even show the clip...except to trash Santelli for not prostrating himself before The Obama.{M5}Sniper3 wrote:

In certain ways, I can see where you're coming from, but the reason behind this crisis isn't purely deregulation. It certainly isn't the fault of the market acting alone.Diesel_dyk wrote:
I was wondering if the Santelli rant was worth posting.
I have to agree that they shouldn't bail out these home owners, but the reason has nothing to do with Santelli's rant about redistribution of wealth. Did you notice how the other commentators bristled at the notion that the market was fallible.... And that is where Santelli and Kudlow are wrong. They look high priests in a new market religion cult where the true believers deserve all the spoils regardless of the ramifications to the country.
The fact is that the housing bubble and all the other bubbles have to find bottom and go below that before the economy can come back.
Any money sent to these people will do nothing but delay the inevitable bottom and waste money.
Mortgages should be renegotiated, banks should realize principle losses BUT the govt should not put out one penny to the home owners or the banks.
Let the market find bottom and let the insolvent banks go under. (on this I agree with Kudlow and Santelli)
If the govt money is put towards infrastructure to set the stage for the next boom then maybe the next boom won't be bubble based because that's what we need a recovery that is not "bubble based."
and until the economy rebounds the govt is going to need to spend a lot on social programs to keep people from starving. (on this I know Santelli and Kudlow would disagree and they STFU for their lack of pragmatism - I hope Obama puts a special tax on Santelli's Chicago supply side crooks.
http://www.nationwidechicagoteaparty.com/It’s really on. Tomorrow, thousands of sick and tired taxpayers on the ground and online will participate in “Tea Parties” across the country. Go here for links and locations.
If you can’t make it to a protest event, one Facebook user has posted the following virtual Tea Party info:
Many of us were inspired after Rick Santelli gave his speech on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange calling for a Chicago Tea Party.
There will be many events taking place across the country where people are gathering in protest of all of the spending and taxing that has been occurring lately in government. I wanted to offer an opportunity for those of us who have to work to be able to participate.
I want to encourage all of you to stage your own form of a protest at your work. Don’t do anything against your company policy that would get you disciplined or fired. Here are a few ways that you can participate:
1. Participate in the live tweeting using the #teaparty hashtag.
2. Take part in the Tea Party rally in Second Life.
3. Writing letters to the media, elected officials, etc.
4. Blogging about the Tea Party and the message behind it.
5. Bring bags of tea to work and lay them on your desk. When your co-workers ask you why, explain the reasoning behind the protest and say you are showing your support.
6. Make iced tea for the office and share the message with those you work with.
The last two on that list are things you can do at work to show support, but if you don’t feel comfortable you can still do them, but just not explain your reasoning to your co-workers if you aren’t comfortable or if you don’t work in a really accepting place.
I hope that this offers you a way to participate and I hope to “see” you there!

Came about too fast. They should have scheduled it a month or two away. It would have been interesting to see just how many people (through varying displays of discontent) agreed with the Santelli's rant/idea.AussieReaper wrote:
