I wonder if the shotgun will do increased damage at all. It doesn't say it does, but only 2 shots (that launch someone away from you) makes it sound like the FaN is going to be very difficult to get kills with.

But then I guess it's more of a crowd control weapon than anything. Launch someone into the path of a friendly sentry, that sort of thing.

If you are in range to do any decent damage with the shotgun, 95% of the time you should be flaming them instead.

If you are in range to do any decent damage with the shotgun, 95% of the time you should be flaming them instead.


Flaregun has range, shotgun doesn't have that much.
Flaregun has slooooooooooow rate of fire, sloooooooooooooooooooooow round velocity, looooooooooooooow DPS.

Shotgun has none of these.

The shotgun has much better range than the FT, and mostly that's what I use it for, when my enemy is just out of the range of the flames, and I can do more damage by pumping buck-shot into him that by not hitting him with the flames.

Flare-gun is only good at shooting Heavies, and they have enough health for it to not make much of any difference.

I was talking about the scout specifically but the only other useful unlocks are the blutsauger, ubersaw and KGB.
