Couple things I would like to add about the game: I played most of the total war games except couple of expansions, but anyways they are getting better at analyzing and fixing problems. One of the things they keep missing is the process of including every civilization in Europe or every nation they include the main ones but they never include all of them, which is kind of less fun. Also they should of make it so each civilization has different units, throughout most of the medieval games certain units differ but a lot of units are alike or very similar visual vise. I know they have been trying to break away from the clone thing (taking away the fact that every soldier looks alike) they did a decent job, but I think they could do better. I think each civilization or nation should have its own unique units that are 100% different from the next one, since no two armies were ever alike. They should also add more detail to each soldier. Each soldier should have a history of his own, and therefore he or she would look different from the next soldier standing next to him, looks wise, clothes wise, hair wise, weapon wise, and so on.
Also Age of Empires series was on top of its strategy genre when the first Total War game out the Shogun one, which you got to play as Japanese. The AOE series released AOE 3 later on which was not that impressive, and kind of fell behind the Total War series... but consider this AOE 2 was considered one of the best strategy games of all time. But nonetheless since there is no real competitor out there that can challenge Total War series total war series is kind of like Microsoft its gonna make new changes to couple of new games but it wont make any drastic changes. From what I've seen thus far there is some improvement but a lot of other stuff was used from other Total war games.
