Well deserved, entertaining author... doing a lot of good awareness/charity work for Alzheimers too.

That program is horrible, Ted. Seeing such a wise and witty guy struggling to even read out his own novel at a public press-conference... pretty harsh.

Wish he, and nobody else, had gotten alzheimers. I saw some dude on a doco the other day who was once a chartered surveyor who described his old job as such... It's not a verbatim quote but it is basically what he said.

'You know, we were the place were people got their papers. Umm... Like they lived in a small place and err.... Quadrants and such you know. So people came to our office and got their papers.'

He can't get himself breakfast on his own and can't remember his children. Even worse, he had early onset at just age 55. A bloody tragedy.

Anybody here have a relative with alzheimers? I'm lucky, neither of my surviving grandparents have got it. One has cancer (making a full recovery), but he'd take cancer over alzheimers any day of the week.

Haha Mek, he is one of Britain's best-selling authors, and by best-selling mainstream author I mean a deserving one with a solid style... as opposed to people like Dan Brown that are just talentless hacks. He's been solidly plugging away at his Discworld series and other related side-projects for years, and they're consistently funny and always packed full of his subtle wit and parody. Easy-reading too, accessible. Cannot grumble at Terry!
