Well, as long as you're not being an ass. I do have a question though.
He made a comment that no one should be above the law, in regards to the question about Bush administration justice investigations.
My first thought when he said that was, does that include cabinet member tax cheats? Apparently they are above the law.
Lowing stop making these threads man, I'm fucking bored of you picking on my good friend Obama!
I kinda hoped D&ST would stop producing 14 Obama-themed threads per day after the election process was over... ya know. I don't want some biased political commentary from your egotistical ass on every decision and public appearance he makes, I'll just go read the politics section of my daily paper.

"Painfully biased" Wow, you're really trying hard here.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
You are painfully biased, it's quite apparent to everyone else, just don't say you stick to the middle. It discredits you. Pick a side, at least the "Obama" side if not the Democratic side, and acknowledge it.
I do stick to the middle as I'm not blinded by one side. If Obama does something which I disapprove of, I'm going to criticize him. If he does something I don't agree with or think he should do differentely, I'm going to say it. I've already stated my skepticism about the stimulus bill. I mean, I HOPE it works (I don't think anyone here truly hopes it fails, otherwise...well, that'd be pretty pathetic if they do) obviously, but I'm a skeptic about it.
Honestly, you trying to debunk others political standpoints is so hilarious, I can't even begin to describe it. If Bloomberg had ran against Obama, I'd have rooted for Bloomberg. If Chuck Hagel ran against Obama, I'd have supported Chuck Hagel. But no, John McCain was the nominee. Good guy, bad politician. And I believed Obama's plan was far superior to his and still do. That doesn't mean I'm going to blindly support it, I just laugh at people like lowing who still use campaign terms 3 weeks into the administration and have to grasp at straws for anything to bash him for.
Poseidon weren't you running around waving the Obama flag and going to rallies last year?

Because you luuuuuuuuuuved Bush, and never ever ever made fun of him for truly irrelevant aspects of his presidency.
I am not trying to poke holes in jack shit. You are just being quite hypocritical in your denouncement of "lowing and other repliers for having political blinders on".

Yes, because it was really the first election which I actually truly cared about and got involved in. I supported Obama and his plan more than any other candidate and thought he would do the best job.Kmarion wrote:

However, it's 3 fucking weeks in to his administration. He hasn't done anything monumental to have me stop supporting him. If he becomes a fuckup like Bush, yeah, I'm not gonna support him anymore...but it's too early to tell.
If he proclaims the United States as "These Socialist States of America" like lowing is paranoid of, I'll tip my hat in concession.
The point is that he is our president now, and you cannot denounce his policy before he even tries anything. We have to support him with the utmost respect until he has proven himself incapable. Of course, some skepticism is healthy, but it's at the cost of doing nothing, which we cannot afford.
Gotta agree, the fact that everyone that trashed Bush with every breathe is offended and bored at anti-Obama threads is kinda laughable at its absurdity.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Besides all my threads covered different subjects.
1. His appointments of lobbyists and tax cheats that he said would not happen
2. His stimulous package
3. his first news conference.
Whats the problem?
We can't afford $800 billion. The cost of doing nothing is not throwing $800 billion at the problem.Yellowman03 wrote:

The only reason it's $800 billion is because it's loaded with pork, which is why I say we must support the president and his fiscal policy rather than shove our own desires into it. Currently, it's selfishness that's prolonging recovery.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

And for the record, I still think Bush did a good job post-9/11. I think his speech at Ground Zero was one of the best I've ever heard, as simple as it was.

Obama has everything going for him now. First 100 days, succeeding an incredibly shitty/unpopular president, people in crisis...if he hasn't been able to get a bill through without all the bullshit it's not going to happen.Yellowman03 wrote:

In any case the bullshit is a relatively small and insignificant proportion of the bill and its true intentions. It's still a bad idea.
