Your ambition is very limited if you only want to make it to middle class.
Fuck Israel
Again, STOP trying to compare becoming a fuckin astronut or a CEO or the president to graduating fucking high school. It is rediculous to say there are reasons other than medical inability, for someone not being capable of finishing high school. You are giving the same excuse for a person who can not climb Everest to those that claim they can not climb a pitchers mound. It doesn't work.Dilbert_X wrote:

So a fire fighter was just dealt "lucky" cards huh? Effort, drive, hard work, motivation, determination, had nothing to do with it?Its a combination of factors.I wrote:
People get dealt different hands, some work harder, some don't, some are lucky with health, intelligence, educated parents, pushy parents, some aren't.
Again, please explain, if hard work is the only factor why are you not President, or CEO of a Fortune 500 company?
You're complaining that factors outside your control prevent you becoming President, maybe there are factors which prevent people graduating from high school - which puts them only one or two rungs below you.
I'll say what you're too wet to say, black Americans, black British too, tend not to do so well at school.
The reasons are complex, laziness and lack of self-accountability are two of them.
Funny, I thought you just said ambition has got nothing to do with it, I thought you said luck was in charge. Are you now telling me that ambition, hard work, drive motivation etc, and not some mythical force, is what matters?Dilbert_X wrote:

As you have no control over b, it's quite possible to try really hard and be crap, others are just plain better than you. There is no sure way of doing anything in life.lowing wrote:
a. you have control over yourself, I agreePureFodder wrote:
There's no way that everyone can become middle class. People's abilities are relative to everyone elses. If everyone tried harder, worked longer and stived for a better life, basically everyone would stay in exactly the same position.lowing wrote:
SO if have only myself to blame for not being a millionaire, who exactly is to blame for a person not even being a middle class citizen?
Your success is based on a) How good you are
b) How good everyone else is
You have no control over b.
b. you do not have control over anyone else, I also agree, so take comfort in the fact that you do not need to. Taking responsibility for YOURSELF is all that is required for YOUR success. Just make sure you are one of the ones who makes it to middle class.

The argument is this: You'll only ever get a job if you are the best for the job. If 10 people apply for a job you are in control of 10% of your chance of getting the job. The other 90% is out of your hands.lowing wrote:
any chance either of you wanna bring your arguments for under achievment down to earth? I mean one is arguing that because we can't all be president of the United States that this is the same thing as not being cabable of making a living, and the other gives a a "what if" everyone in the world wants to be aircraft mechanics.
Really, your far fetched excuses for failure, speaks alot as to how far you really gotta go to excuse someone from graduating high school and making a living.
I see, so compitition is a bad thing!! We all should be the same, and recieve the same things out of life. Being better at something means you put more into being better and thus rewarded. By your account, this is a bad thing, is not fair, and should never happen.PureFodder wrote:

If a few more people wanted a job as an aircraft mechanic and happened to be real good at it, you wouldn't have that job.
Nature does not give everyone the same abilities.lowing wrote:

The point is, take care of YOURSELF, make sure YOU are the best, TRY HARDER than the other guy, and get rewarded, welcome to America!!
