Two children and a woman were stabbed to death at a nursery in Belgium this morning after a knifeman with a painted face went on the rampage.

At least 13 more people were injured in the attack at the crèche in Dendermonde, northwest of Brussels, before the man fled on a bicycle.

The suspect, aged between 25 and 30, with his face painted black and white is said to be a resident at a local psychiatric institution. He has since been arrested, police said.

I really, really hope they go medieval on this guy's ass. How on earth you could possibly imagine stabbing defenseless toddlers and babies is beyond me. It's an act truly beneath contempt. I just hope there won't be any more casualties among the wounded children.

I don't know about you but some mental patient stabbing kids to death does shock me and makes my stomach churn.

Apparently he was wearing a bulletproof vest and was carrying several knives and had and axe with him too.

Some sources are stating he is a mental patient, others say that he isn't. It's unclear at this time. But in order to be capable of such a thing, I think he would have fucking belonged in a padded cell and a straightjacket in the first place.

IDK about Belgium but here that got rid of padded rooms and straitjackets decades ago. Also most patients are self admitted and unless this person had court order would have been free to leave whenever they felt like it. Psychiatric hospitals are not prisons, they are hospitals, as the name suggests.

And you are right, it turns out he was getting psychiatric treatment but he wasn't incarcerated.

Nope, not wrong at all. I feel the same way. Yea it sucks, but people die every day. The only difference is media coverage.

It only really hurts when it hits close to your self.
I've noticed the same thing about not feeling any sadness even if the story is horrible. The news are just so full of this kind of stuff...

It's a matter of how much you trust the government. Granted, it's not like I'd protest seeing this guy hang or fry.

Being against the death penalty is usually something that has more to do with avoiding the execution of the wrongfully accused than it is a sympathy plea for actual murderers.

Still, this case looks pretty open and shut to me. I doubt they'll convict the wrong guy here.
