America has the stereotype of "rags to riches...through suing for any reason"

Now this guy is the reason for that stereotype.

Hmm I never knew we had that stereotype also. I was pretty happy with the rag to riches through hard work and rags to riches off the backs of your fellow man but this is an outrage.

Good for him. He's found a legal loophole and is making a fortune from it. And he is suing establishments which fail to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which is clearly against the law if he is so successful.

Give the guy a break.

suing for a gas-station papertowel dispenser being too high? ffs cmon, they showed that in the vid and it was not too high. im 6'4, should i sue for when shit is too low for me? if they lower everything to the height of a wheelchair, that means i have to hunch over and cause back strain for everyday life.

They should at least be given a chance to correct the mistakes before having to pay a settlement.

Silence! Your being very intolerant right now. You have to bend to the will of the few for the greater good. You don't understand how the paper towel dispenser being too high is a slap in the face to all those disabled.

Yeah I agree, lol. I'm just trying to argue for this guy and see the response. I'm against what he is going, but can see some good come out of it.

The shame is he wouldn't be forcing these businesses to act if it wasn't reported by CNN and they were given a chance. Hopefully because of him the law will change so businesses have 3 months, or however long to comply with the standards required.

All the local businesses should chip in and pay for a hit on him. Probably save a lot of cash.

There was a great story in the local weekly not too long ago regarding this kind of stuff.

http://www.ocweekly.com/2006-10-12/news/the-new-crips/

A far better read than AOL's in my opinion.

I knew what this was about without the link. This guy has been detailed in depth in the O.C. Weekly.

He is a professional litigant and last I heard he was barred from filing any more lawsuits.

2000+  cases. What an asshole.

I think Mundy's actions don't really prove anything other than that disabled people are just as greedy as anyone else.  He's not doing anything other than exploiting the law.

His next move will probably involve suing a gym for not having a wheelchair accessible treadmill.
