Tempted as you are, upgrading now would not be a smart move, the time to do a full upgrade would be around X-mas, the 48xx series will be fully released and so will the GT200 models. LGA1366 will be available etc. I'm not gonna upgrade anymore, I'm set to build a perfect rig without replacing anything.

These are the switches for the lights. I wanted to be able to access them without taking the side off my case, so I got a 5.25" panel from an old beige tower and drilled holes for them. The middle switch isn't attached to anything yet, but I am thinking of going getting some UV-reactive stuff and putting my old 12" UV light back in.

I put this on a while ago. It's a 12" green cathode stuck on the bottom of my case with packing tape. I got the idea after playing NFS:U 2, but didn't want to go through the hassle of drilling holes for cable ties. Surprisingly, I've never had to replace the tape.

With four feet of green lighting in my case, it looked odd when I put my external drive next to it, due to it's bright blue light. I couldn't be bothered to get an LED to replace it with, so I got some yellow cellophane and stuck it between the perspex front and the LED. Its not a bright as it once was - you can only really see it in the dark - but it works.

I got tired of the 3-metre cable going from the UPS to the modem, so I set it up with dedicated batteries.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. I had a laptop with a completely raped screen (the LCD was broken to pieces, useless), and my mum's laptop screen got broken about a year after my laptop's, so i took her slightly broken (one small crack) 15.4" widescreen screen and replaced my old non widescreen screen with it. And taped it on

more pics to follow when i bother installing an O/S on it, it'll be slightly more irritating than usual as the DVD drive in it is broken

it's not massively fragile, but i don't plan on lugging it around too much, it'll really server as a Web/MSN/etc machine which will sit next to my main machine, i might take it out with me occasionally but not too often
