I'm sorry, I can't accept a score from another OS, as it performs so differently compared to Windows. I'm gonna need a genuine Windows bench.Sydney wrote:
I win this thread. Linux RAPES windows when it comes to multiple core performance
It's a shame that CPU-Z can't function in Linux

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I would like an update on my score lulz
OC'd a little more, I think i'm borderline safe, core runs at 52~C load now on air, not sure how far this memory will auto configure with the FSB increases and my locked multi(I think)
also anyone have any tips I could use for this CPU?

Some testing with my new BIOS.... without any ram tweaks...

quick 4ghz run
Why quick, with that voltage there's nothing bad for 24/7 clocks of 4GHz

Yeah, I'm going to try to knock my overclock up a notch, now that I've flashed to Rampage X48 and I should be able to achieve higher clocks at lower vcores
It needs to have reasonale temperatures with minimal fan speeds on 100% load so I can sleep at night

Time to join the club I suppose.
EDIT : When I press go, only one of my cores gets loaded. This normal?

Yes, Finny. SPI is only single-threaded.
Updated.
Updated.

Right, suicide run.
Damn, had it at 4.2Ghz, 1m pi took 15.3 seconds. BSoD'd before I could screenshot though.
stable as one legged giraff....Finray wrote:

I need a new mobo, this one is terrible for overclocking. Needs 1.6 (in bios) to stay stable at 3.6Ghz.
Also that's the limit of the vcore, I want to try 1.7 and see if my 4.2Ghz will stick
You want to fry your cpu it seems.Finray wrote:

Not really, just want a decent score. I've heard of people getting 5Ghz outta this CPU on air.
with fries or not?Finray wrote:

you are confusing your CPU with good batched E8xxx E0s.

There's no way you're getting 5GHz with a E5200 on air.Finray wrote:

Not gonna happen.
Protip: That has consequences, frying your CPU is among them. Not to mention, 1.1Ghz overclock on air is good. More then I can get out of this crappy board.Finray wrote:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
lowest score, i kept getting over 30 but when she imed me it dropped to 29
