yeah well if you are seeing this daily and is common I still think you are in the wrong places and might wanna considering hanging out with a different crowd.jord wrote:
Not really. I hardly do anything to warrant Police attention. A lot of people are spoken down to, or sworn at, or have been on the receiving end of excessive force. Not everyone reports it. I couldn't count the number of questionable police acts I've seen on two hands. But what do I know, living here in this country and not reading the news as much?lowing wrote:
Yeah well, then you are not among the "typical" people, because the VAT MAJORITY of people seem to be able to make through life without police harrassment or a police beating. If you constantly draw attention like that, then maybe you need to do a self examination to determain if in fact YOU are not problem instead of the policejord wrote:
I'm glad you agree.
I don't see the same leniency being applied to other high responsibility careers... When has anyone ever said "Ahhh George Bush is only Human, so what if he got us into a war for shit reasons, he's just one of us"...
Regarding respecting the Police that is something I will never be able to do. I don't give them shit, but if they are doing something wrong I will call them up on it as I would anyone. Without writing my life story, I've seen to many cunts in a badge to ever have faith in them again. There's truth in every stereotype.
So all cops are bad. No matter how violent protestors get, cops can't use force, and when they do, nothing could've happened that would justify it. Maladjusted youths with a history of violence towards the police could never be responsible in the slightest bit for their brushes with cops. Christ, you anarchistic idiots are the first people who would lie down and cry if the fabric of society crumbled and you were on your own with no one to protect you. Grow up.

I beg to differ, nothing more fun than a good riot. Down with the Government. Anarchists unite! Etc, etc.usmarine wrote:

Just playing up to my new image mikkel kindly made me.
I'm just going by what I've read about him. It looks to me like he overthrew one form of oppression and installed another. It reminds me a bit of things like when Castro overthrew Batista or many of the various revolutions in Africa.jord wrote:
He was a normal farmer that rose to become commander of the military and lord Protector of England. Overthrowing one of the strongest thrones in the world. I woulda thought all you Americans would have loved a drama like that...Turquoise wrote:
True... but I don't think he changed it for the better.jord wrote:
He changed the world, someone's got to hate him.
It depends where you come from, if you're Irish you probably hate him. If you're an American with a tiny but of Irish blood and insistent on getting into every Irish debate like it was your own background, and believe me I've met many in this category, then you hate him.
I know what you mean about seeing parallels between our revolution and Cromwell's rise, but Cromwell did not conduct himself like Washington did. Washington was a relatively restrained leader once entering the presidency. He basically acted more like a humble civil servant than a forceful dictator.
The rise of America was very different from most revolutions because it was mostly angled at limiting the power of government. Cromwell essentially made himself a military version of a king.
So I'd say Washington was a much more admirable person than Cromwell, by a longshot. I'd say this even if I was British, Canadian, or Chinese for that matter.
Ok my apologies, please continue the story as to how Greek citizens are just standing around minding their own business when all of a sudden the govt. pops out of nowhere and starts shooting, and beating you all for no reason. I am listeningDelusion wrote:

someone told you off about your sig, ok, didn't realise, sorry... btw off topic but this nazi guy, apart from his nazi name, has never said anything racist... at least not in bf2s. I'm sure if he did he'd get permd.
The only difference is that we don't have chavs around here. Sure lots of fuckers dress even worse, but no chavvish behavior if you know what I mean. The ones causing trouble from time to time are fascists and illegal immigrants. Mostly Albanians. The political far left is quite sensible actually.Mekstizzle wrote:
Truthfully speaking if this happened over here I'd be quite happy that a copper topped some faggot kid who thought he was hard (as would probably be the case, if it was here in the UK). But that would be me speaking on how I perceive our youth and our police force. It's different over there
And if not that, surely then the power that goes with the badge turns them into cunts.jord wrote:
It takes a certain type of person to apply to join the Police. And that type of person is in a subcategory under the category of Cunts. I won't beat around the bush when accused of something I clearly am. No, I don't like the Police. Want it any clearer?
True that. And the problem of this particular cop will be solved in court. But the general problem of police brutality will not. The government will have to be made to address that.usmarine wrote:
