I figured I cant select a euro force map unless my gamespy nick is the same as my BF2 account nick. Ok fine I changed it & I can play.

However I have a 2nd account I use but if I try to play with that I have to go to a link in the EA downloader where I get the option to change my nick but surely I dont have to do this everytime I want to change the account Im playing with?? I tried logging in with one username & played fine then logged out & selected the 2nd username & tried to play but I get this stupid message again..grrrrrr

Yeah I can't get this to work at all. I download it, change all of my e-mail accounts around, change all of the names to match, and it won't go.

Yeah, I have to say that this is the most inefficient and confusing way to distribute files. As lame as Steam is, at least you know it works.

I wish I had some helpful info for you guys, I just got mine going, but I honestly can't tell you what I did to make it work. So if you want to follow my model, just keep clicking shit, eventually it will just decide to work :\

Yes however im not loading the game via gamespy.

So I tried using gamespy & the only way I could get it to work was by changing my nickname in there however when I tried to change it back it said the name is unavailable. So I tried changing it back via gamespys website & now I get the message 'Sorry, you’ve reached the limit on how frequently you can change your Gamespy nickname. You can change your Gamespy nickname up to 3 times per week.' so I can no longer play the game with my main nick.

I also tried creating a completely new Gamespy & EA a/c but when I tried to change the nick in my new account to my main nick it says 'nick already in use'. So I assume it sees Ive already used the nick in my other account? Too bad if someone else in the world already had my nick as their gamespy nick....just bs

OMG. WTF. What if my email for my BF2 account is just made up? wtf. I didn't have 2 email addresses at the time so I just made some random one.

Gamespy-- we need to create an account? It needs to MATCH your BF2 account? What about the other info? WTF. I'm confused. F this I'm waiting until tomorrow.

If you already have it -- do you recommend waiting to download it later, or should I just get it out of the way now? F**K EA

Ok i downloaded and paid fopr EF perfectly, you dont need a gamespy account to download it you just need a EA website account and it doesnt have to be your in-game name, and they said that EF isnt supposed to be played until tomorrow and they are looking into why some people were able to play it.....please use the search

you guys can't wait, an icon "ready to install" should pop up out of your systray bar, once you have downloaded the game, and THEN you can install. Trust me, it's on the EA downloader page.

EA Downloader was not specific in it's instructions and many people didn't get it on the first try because of it.

The login you use to enter the Downloader is the EA Account login. This is DIFFERENT to your BF2 Login.
When you bought the game and downloaded it, at the end of the process it asked for a Gamespy Account Login and you typed it in twice. This login was actually your BF2 Login that you type to play the game. It will only allow that login to use the Euro Forces booster pack. In order to change the login that is used you will have to go into the EA Downloader and change the Account Information there to another nick.

If you have more than one BF2 login account for some odd reason and if you want to play Euro Forces on both accounts, then you will have to go into EA Downloader and change it each time you want to play under a different nick. This sucks for anyone that has more than one account however those of use that only use one account are fine and dandy.

Also try reading the FAQ for EA Euro Forces up there in the sticky section of this forum section.

Hopefully, this issue is being corrected, Im not sure why EA would need to get gamespy involved with this update for BF2. I had the same problem my ID was diffrent in BF2 than in game spy after reinstalling the BF2 and all the patches still had the problem, but was able to figure out the gamespy ID just make the nickname the same and it came out ok, but that really annoyed me to have to go through with all that just to play 3 new maps.
