I actually just watched the original (again) earlier. No joke.

I loved the original...but this one seems too dark. And the original one was pretty dark by itself.

Not to mention the fact that Spoiler (highlight to read):
There's no huge rotating ball thing that destroys shit and no destructive wind that comes around...

That's because the original is pretty irrelevant to the general public's mind these days. There is no cold war. No constant threat of nuclear oblitiration by the USSR.

So they changed it to something bout climate change

Work for Fox so saw it last Thursday.

Don't expect it to be better than Independence Day or War of the Worlds. There's a decent amount of action and the effects are good, but Jennifer Conollys eyebrows steal the show.

Go and watch it, but don't complain when it doesn't live up to the trailer.
