If they're just as capable of doing the same job as a male soldier, I don't see why not.

The main problem I see is not men being distracted by staring at Sgt. Stacy's ass, but by wanting to protect the female(s) of the group. Female soldier is pinned by enemy fire, some male soldier might run out into open fire to try and rescue her. Not to mention that a female soldier would likely be raped if captured, in addition to whatever terrible things the 'freedom fighters' do.
Also, there's the problem of stuff like... periods. Women need to be extra-hygienic during that time of the month, or else they can get nasty things like this:

And yes it's good for women to be allowed. That shouldnt even be a question, certain women are more qualified than certain males in the military right now.

I would stipulate that she would have to elect to serve in infantry or not. While they do undergo similar experiences, men and women aren't the same and we already know that particular field isn't for everybody.
My point is, to say that it's bad to have women in the military because men might want to fuck one or think she is too weak is stupid. Its all individual ability, if you have a woman that is 230 and 6ft athletic against a guy that is 100 pounds and is 5'5 unathletic, which one do you think the solidiers will think is weaker? Sure. I don't think you would find a great deal of two way attraction in that scenario (assuming the majority of men are not homosexual).
