Unfortunately there are a ton of servers that force you to use the normal gun, which sucks.
And why would you turn that setting on in the first place? Seems pretty arbitrary and people who have custom skins generally want to use them.
Valve should patch that out.

After the last patch I couldn't join half my favorite servers because of consistency errors

So awesome, it deserves it's own post.
Me and Peter got this a few days ago . One of the hardest achievements in the game. 20 kills as a Heavy with the same Medic on you the whole time. I got 28 altogether before we died ^_^. Peter already had the equivalent Medic achievement (as do I) so only the Heavy one was awarded. He had the Kritzkrieg and I had Sasha.

the scout ones are annoying though - half of them require the fucking sandman.
