" An organization calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen claimed it was behind attacks in the nation's financial capitals, which began late Wednesday night. Nine suspected terrorists had been caught, India's NMTV reported, and two were killed "
Cnn confirms 78 dead, apparently the terrorists have hijacked a police van and are opening fire on crowds
--shit: footage of van driving by a crowded square, everybody hit the deck, one guy bleeding right in front of camera.

Was martial law declared yet or no?
It scares me even more thinking something like this could happen in NYC. Load of people around...a coordinated attack could leave hundreds dead.
What the hell, this seems almost unreal, like it's out of some video game plot or something.
i wonder if there is a concealed carry law over there?
It sounds well coordinated unfortunately. You might not have seen the end of this terror group unless those captured are made to talk as soon as possible about what the next target is.
Fuck.

Considering the number, there's a good chance at least one is captured, unless they cap themselves beforehand.TheAussieReaper wrote:

Parker with all due respect, if you're saying that if people were allowed to concealed carry then the casualties wouldn't have been as huge... these are guys who probably have body armor and fully automatic weapons firing into huge crowds of people. People who aren't necessarily super trained with gunfire and combat. They'd have to grab their guns, figure out who's firing (and if multiple people are firing, who are the bad guys), etc.Parker wrote:

Yeah, the ability to stand among the sheep and fire back never helps.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

I am sure if you were nuttering in Houston Texas with an AK47 you wouldn't be worried at all about being capped in the back of the head by someone because Concealed Carry is so benign.
Your natural instinct is always to flee when suddenly your in a gunfight and people are screaming and dying around you anyway. That's why soldiers need training...

You really have to question security services in India if something this widespread (and organised) can happen without any warning.

Many ex-soldiers are citizens. Having a weapon gives you options.TheAussieReaper wrote:

natural instinct is to freeze with fear and lose bladder control when being mowed down with a bunch of other people suddenly, if you flee immediately you are doing quite well tbh
The fact that they were able to kill three top police officers, including the chief of the anti-terror squad, is telling enough.FatherTed wrote:

who the fuck are they?
Quick question here...
Obv MI6 and their US counterparts have people in India, do you think a) they knew about this, and b) if they had, would they have passed the info on?
This seems like to a big an attack to go without fore-knowledge
