I came across this news story from a Canadian news source. It says that the price tag for fixing the financial crisis is now $7 trillion.

Tuesday's announcement makes it $7-trillion (U.S.)

I havn't heard that from any American news source.

The article doesn't really break down the $7 trillion. But is it $7 trillion already Really???? I did hear that there were about $60 Trillion in credit default swaps so does that mean that we maybe 10% of the way towards fixing the mess.

One thing is for sure, if the fed keeps printing money we are going to look like the Weimar Republic.

lmao I read that as "Is the price tag for fixing Crysis really $7 trillion already?"

Well, it looks like we'll be getting a commodity based currency sooner than originally assumed -- because if we really do spend $7 trillion in the next 4 years or so, our current fiat currency will be worth jack shit.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the international bankers want.  I get the impression that a lot of countries would like to see us gradually lessen in influence, so I guess maybe that's why they're doing all this.

First we force lenders to lend money to the borrowers who made bad financial choices. Then we force the tax payer to lend money to the businesses that made poor financial moves. The intelligent, successful, and responsible are punished in both instances. What exactly are we encouraging here?

It's not even wealth spreading...  it's wealth collecting...  for the irresponsible corporations that started this mess and for the banks that run the Fed Reserve system.

Corporations are our countries largest employer. They haven't all failed.. far from it. Yet the ones who built their base around survivability are paying the price. The ones who pulled back prior to the REAL mess because they had foresight and were responsible are now getting screwed by the inevitable. We are rewarding the incompetents while securing the complete demise of the system. I find it pretty funny to hear the supposed champions of fairness ignoring this blatantly obvious point.

Absolutely...  this is why I'm to the point where I trust neither party and not even our government in general now.  We know who these people really work for.

I suppose the only way to get something done now is the old fashioned way...  a few well-placed bullets.

And we're fucked...

And that's going off the conservative figure that this bailout has only hit $4.6 Trillion.

I would like to see a breakdown of the four trillion. How much has been dispersed?

It's only treason if you fail to overthrow the government involved.  Granted, I don't think it will be me who will be the first to start firing....

After these bailouts fail just like the first ones did, people will be calling for blood.

I can't wait for the monetary system to collapse.

What a parasitic system.  I would perfer the government to own the banking system and be ran off the interest from loans rather than taxes.

It makes sense to me.

With as much money as they make from these loans, they might as well do that, so I agree.
