compared to the williams, the 2009 BMW is truly epic (aesthetic) PHAIL
I'm hating the new rear wing.
That looks ugly
Do you prefer removing an eyesore or making cars more stable and faster? Thos winglet additions gave a huge boost to stability and increased speed.kylef wrote:

also, the small wings and horns and winglets, etc are banned. Examples:

In other news, Vettel is moving to Red Bull Racing and Force India are finally getting McLaren engines. It's annoying that the engine limits are now not minimum 2 races but 3. It's going to be hell at Spa / Monza / Singapore now because they are arguably the most demanding races for the engine - and they run consecutively.
Also, does anyone know is it confirmed that if when the safety car is deployed the pit line will remain open from now on? Wikipedia didn't shed much light on the rumour
yes but its not fun or dangerous it is when your car could spin off and burst into flames.Zimmer wrote:

Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
They (new ones) look so ugly.
I really liked those pointy shit coming out from all over the body.
Amazing pieces of work and art and aerodynamics(?), just makes you horny.
It works with people, e.g Reventon, that will make you hornier than a naked keira knightly, well sort of.....
Now look at them, squared, tall and simple. Just doesn't make you go "WOOOOAHHHH!!!!!". I think its WRONG.
The f1 cars should be pointy, crazy looking to bring out the childishness of us spectators.

I'd watch for that thing crossing the line first an awful lot. I mean BMW where up there this year even after they stoped developin the car with a bias towards more effort on that thing. Renault got there chasis down a bit late on the 08 car, if they can translate that into the 09 car and honda move there ass aswell (I believe they have worked on the 09 car the longest) and this apparant better at over taking should give us a kick ass seasontahadar wrote:

New aero laws by FIA will give increased stability, as will slicks. It's a fair compromise.Zimmer wrote:

Push to pass is so so gay.
Overtaking by pushing a button rather then using skill FTL.

Kind of reminds me of NFS series with the "NOS" feature.VicktorVauhn wrote:

Don't need all that ground effect shite as Mr.Dale8 put it, because of the slicks (I think, something like that)
Also these cars are gonna have KERS. Basically the energy that's given out during braking will be stored as electricity and can give a boost when needed

And the one for the boffins: http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.ns … 7-2008.pdf
Atm, I believe Honda is the only team that has managed to get it to work right.
I should have put a bet on this

yeh sounds good! i dont know if the 40kg (its about that isnt it?) would be worth it to have a short boost every lap
You're joking right?Blade4509 wrote:

Season finished like 3 weeks ago.
It doesn't add any weight to the car. All the cars must weigh 600kg. Not to sure about if that's car plus driver or just car, but I think it includes driver. The disadvantage is that with KERS you can't distribute the 'ballast' where ever you want. But all that is irrelevant because next year FOTA has agreed not to use the system.Nappy wrote:

You guys know where I can read about this type of racing, and catch-up? It sounds cool.
