cant find anything on it yet, but i will update the op as soon as i find a link.

Doing crazy Ivans no doubt.

Wonder how many of them would have liked to see Montana?

Sucks for them and their families.

I'll bet it was the cook. I always forget to account for the cook.

But radiation seems a likely cause of death.

I'm sure Shahter will tell us it never actually happened, that he knows people who design destroyers and they told him it couldn't happen.

Oh, and Putin Pravda said it didn't really happen...just capitalist pigdog propaganda trying to make him Great Patriotic Mother Russia look bad.

And here's a WTFO for you:

208 people on board...only 81 servicemen. Are they selling underwater tours for cash now?

I wonder if Palin could see it from her house

I was reading about this, apparently it was a fire extinguisher gone bad. Remember that episode in Prison Break in season 4 where they're trapped in that server room and gas starts to come in, and that gas basically takes out all the oxygen so the fire goes away. That happened. Except Lincoln wasn't there to save the sailors.

Oxygen got sucked out and they were trapped surrounded by Russian men...

Hmmm, all things considered, were I assigned to their sub service I'd defect in a heartbeat.

At least they were high as fuck before they died.

They didn't have air breathing masks in the compartment with the fire - the extinguishing system turned on and fill the compartment with Freon.

Freon removes oxygen and they died from asphyxiation.  No problems with the nuclear power plant on board.

Pray for their souls.

The sub was not yet fully operational but still undergoing tests. Most of the people on board were civilian workers from the ship's construction yard.

Was there an update to the story? That wasn't in the OP when I read it.

*edit: Just re-read the OP. Yes, it has been updated since I posted that originally.
