I would be concerned about the explosives and detonators in nukes ageing.
They both have to work perfectly for the thing to go off, most countries can't even make these components to the standard required.
Also I've never looked into what happens to Uranium or Plutonium as it ages.

There was a bit about it at the end of Crimson Tide, explaining how on such and such a date, forget when, US sub commanders were relieved of the ability to personally launch weapons and full control (or similar) was handed to the President and that only UK sub commanders still have the ability to launch weapons themselves after confirmation.Flecco wrote:
