I wouldn't call Taiwan (ROC) the most "nice" country in Asia, they still lay claim to the entire PRC mainland, not to mention some other mainland disputed territories that even the PRC aren't in dispute with anymore (lots of countries)

No one actually takes that shit seriously here in Taiwan. It's one of those old laws and policies they did not change since 1980s. Why you think our President has been so ass kissing to China lately? Not to mention it's the KMT, the party that wants to take over China that is ass kissing. Cybargs, I hate to break this to you, but without help from allies the PRC could take the ROC in probs...... Idk, I'll be conservative and say a month to end all organised resistance and establish a puppet regime/administration.
