So why are they downsizing when they already are making a profit, don't they see that throwing Americans into unemployment will come back and haunt them later ? ... oh yes, we have already reached that haven't we ?lowing wrote:

Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
We have? I haven't looked it up nor do I remember anyone talking about it, are there people outside wearing suits in a breadline that stretches around the corner in every town in America? I missed it.Varegg wrote:

The thing is about profit, there is never enough profit for the shareholders. Surprised? Maybe, just maybe, if the average American worker didn't expect his company to pay for his entire life for work that anyone could do, a company would not be forced to seek cheaper labor elsewhere.
Besides, the job does not belong to the individual, it belongs to the company. We are not a nation of entitlement yet
I rest my case ...

good thing for the world and America it self. Why? because the difference in wealth (poor and rich) feed every crime,. even if you gonna compare it with Europa. Then Europa gives people more equal opportunity to have stable life and exploit them self.
Also the level of popularity is so much higher in Europa for Obama it already give a sense of security around the globe
if McCain was in Paris would they also have big crowd like Obama. and second thing his running mate palin is like crazy bitch..

And how many people here actually know the views on issues like economy, war in Iraq, healthcare etc of McCain? I can tell you now, next to none. Obama has enjoyed a huge amount of airtime in our media, which were widely supporting him. The only airtime McCain got was short, and negative. Mostly making fun of him.Krysiss wrote:

Yep, that so many people support Obama here has nothing to do with the amount of bias that we have. (Besides, we're Europeans. We shouldn't judge over who America elects as it's president.)
All I see when I look at Obama is ALOT of promises, which also contradict eachother too. cutting taxes and starting up a social healthcare program (??), getting the soldiers out of Iraq (as if it'd work, besides, IF that actually works they will all be re-deployed in Afghanistan probably.)
Don't mistake me for a McCain fan, I don't like either candidate.
inane little opines
Firstly, I have to say congratulations to America. I really didn't think there would be an African American President in my lifetime but yet again the USA has defied expectations and strode forward admirably; I just hope now that he can deliver on at least some of the promises upon which he has been elected, the rest of the world is definitely behind him at least.
Secondly, if Obama is going to simply take money from rich, high-earners and give it to poor people in the form of cheques then he is not practicing socialism... that type of Government is known as 'idiocy'. I still find it difficult to believe that he would pursue such an inherently flawed and retarded policy but we will get to see if he does now I guess.

You're still scared of the Soviet Union and communism, and its hilarious.
Even the most "socialist" in the US is a rampant capitalist. You haven't seen socialism boy.
All the govt. has to do is not accept the bids. Period.Dilbert_X wrote:

I am not a CEO of a company because I did not strive for such ambitions. You have no idea what I do for a leaving or how detailed it is. However if you insist on calling me a grease monkey so be it. On behalf of all of us "grease monkeys" you are welcome for everytime you have flown uneventfully and safely. Do you wanna compare responsibilities there slick?
Welcome to the ,"help your fellow man, socialist dream" comrade lowing.
Nope what this election was about was nothing more than what can I get the govt. to do for me, that I do not have to do for myself. It was about how can I get the govt. to take care of me rather than me taking care of myself. For this Obama was the clear choice.JahManRed wrote:

This is really amusing. The people who are upset are those who are completely lost a grasp of what Obama is offering.
Congregated reps, business owners, and the like are scared because all they have been hearing is "Spread the Wealth around" and automatically assume it's a socialist agenda.
Seriously, get off your paranoid ill-informed ass and read up on what Obana is offering. Ten words doesn't entirely summarize what he plans to do in office.
These tax changes that have been said over, over, and over again are really going to be no different than what Bill Clinton offered.
Four years from now I 100% guarantee you'll be thinking, "Hey, it wasn't as bad as I thought."
