It matters, because you're in a Swing State. If you lived in Jew York, or Texas. Nobody cares cos we all know who's gonna win those states amirite guys. Like, take Pug for example, his Texan Obama vote unfortunately doesn't mean much cos that state is so much swung towards the GOP it'll take Jesus himself to come back and say "I'm a Democrat" to change the state

It's like that here, but to a lesser extent. Over here the constituencies are more likely to have no real pattern compared to the states in the US where you know for sure what state will vote what leaving everything down to those swing states

Everybody says "Oh, you are in a solid Dem/Rep state, we already know who is going to win. Don't bother." Then they like to haul out the popular vote as a comparison to say who really should have won. Anyone else see just how flawed that is? Voting is never wasted.

Do you ever stop to wonder why certain states are solidly in which camp?

Oh, and you are wrong about Texas, by the way. As I voted today, I noticed that there were 9 district judges up for election. 8 of them were running unopposed. All Democrat, by the way. But I was dissapointed about there being no one else to vote for. That is what makes an election pointless.

A landslide victory next Tuesday would give Barack Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape government policy dramatically.

By controlling the White House and expanding their Senate majority, Democrats would remove the most reliable weapons used by the GOP to block their agenda: the filibuster and the veto.

Those tools have thwarted Pelosi (Calif.) and Democrats since they won the majority in both chambers, leaving bills affecting labor law, healthcare and other issues to die in the Senate or on the president’s desk.

With those obstacles removed, Democrats could quickly push forward with legislation allowing labor unions to organize without secret-ballot elections and a bill expanding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

Other possibilities include the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which would overturn a Supreme Court decision restricting equal pay lawsuits; a measure that would narrow the role of a “supervisor” for collective bargaining purposes; and a mandate for paid sick leave for companies with 15 or more employees who work at least 30 hours a week — all left over from the last Congress.

“I think they want to strike while the iron’s hot and grab everything they can,” said Marc Freedman, director of labor law policy for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

I miss the age requirement by a few months, but Obama would be my vote because its time for the pendulum to swing left. (Thats quite a nutshell of my opinion.)

But in all honesty I was okay with McCain as president till he went with Palin. What a joke.

Initially, I saw McCain as that guy who would be like a better version of Bush. I wouldn't vote for him, but he'd still be an improvement over the last 8 years.

Then... enter Palin.

Now, if McCain wins, it's basically a matter of hoping that McCain stays alive long enough to spare us the nightmare of her.
