a man who doesn't believe the constitution was correct? who is going to swear to uphold and defend it? when he is talking about how a president (he) could change it??
wow. what the hell is he on about? good lord. its like listening to a radical speaker or something.
Well the US Constitution does still give you the right to be a moron. Obama can't change that.

He was describing the administration of legal mandates during the desegregation process of public schools.

Yeah, I am just off of my rocker with the Communist comparison.

Made some good points about the constitution.
At least he has a fucking opinion that isn't all politically correct. Sadly that gets muffed in order to get elected.
While I don't fully agree with all that he has to say its not like most of that shit will pass through congress anyway.

You can't be talking about the US Constitution. You must be talking about some fairyland constitution that you just made up. Because nothing that douchebag said in the interview was a "good point" about the US Constitution. Go ahead, try to name one. Be prepared, however, to get your ass handed to you in tatters.topthrill05 wrote:

Now that I've fixed your quote to be accurate, does it still sound like such a great thing? At least he has a fucking opinion that isn't all politically correct.
So you're saying he hides his true agenda?Sadly that gets muffed in order to get elected.
You seriously think it won't have a chance of passing a Democratic Congress? While I don't fully agree with all that he has to say its not like most of that shit will pass through congress anyway.
Were you born this vapid or did you take lessons?
"Generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties"
"doesn't say what the government can do on your behalf"
That's right, Barack. It was written that way for a reason--that rights belong to man, not the government. That the government's role is to preserve those rights and not to infringe on them (like say via forced redistribution of wealth), not to have rights of its own.

Barack is actually talking about the same things MLK was addressing right before he was assassinated.
After the Civil Rights Movement successfully pushed forward laws against discrimination toward race, MLK focused on uniting the working class regardless of race. He was striving for advancing labor rights and restricting the abuse of power by the elite rich.
It sounds like Obama shares these same interests, so it's not the sinister specter of Communism that apparently right-wingers are trying to project on Obama -- unless of course, you consider MLK to be Communist.

No, he's not. He's talking about the Constitution itself, not the laws legislated in concert with the Constitution.Turquoise wrote:

MLK didn't find the Constitution to be deficient...he found the laws enacted to protect peoples' rights in accordance with the Constitution to be deficient.
There is a distinct difference between the two views.

So the part where he went into how the founding fathers didn't really address the slavery issue wasn't true? So go ahead and tatter me.HollisHurlbut wrote:

Don't edit my posts I meant what I said.
No but my personal beliefs aren't always in line with my policy beliefs.
Because Welfare and social security got privatized when the GOP had full control? Sure it's easier to get shit through but not anything you want.
On a final note are you always this much of a cocksucker or is this how you get your points across? Don't imply that I'm an idiot when we have differing views.
Well, even if we assume he's saying the Constitution has some problems that need to be worked out, that's not a bad thing. We occasionally amend the Constitution, and for good reason.FEOS wrote:

You guys keep throwing that around. He's not promoting socialism. Socialism is more like what Scandinavia is doing.FEOS wrote:

Seems to work well for them tbh.Turquoise wrote:

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
It does... Granted, true socialism would probably fail horribly with a country the size of the U.S. But yeah, it works great for countries less than 20 million in population.Flecco wrote:
