If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

I love the you'll only die tired one, it was also used in the Game Silent Scope.  I use it a lot in BF expecially if you're bunny hopping to avoid my sniper fire. lol

When MacAuthor landed in Leyte:

Soldier: "Sir, it's not safe, there are Jap snipers everywhere, we just kill one over there."
MacAuthor: "Good that's the way I like them."

(quote isn't exact but you get the idea)

Rommels standing orders, "When in the absent of orders, go find the enemy and kill him."

I always liked this one, really not a military quote but was yelled at me a lot (AFROTC), "Pain is weakness leaving the body"

Sniper, "Poor souls never knew what hit them."

Patton's rules of engagement the Three A's "Attack, Attack, Attack."

Oh I have more, just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than yourself.

If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

When you have secured the area, make sure the enemy knows it too.

Tracers work both ways.

Professionals are predictable, its the amateurs that are dangerous.

If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you.

Any ship can be a minesweeper . . . . once.

When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not your friend.

When the enemy is closing, the artillery will always be to long.

How did I not post "I Shall Return"  Gaah.  It's something that holds dear to me because I'm half Filipino.

"War is Hell"   Never really liked that one on although it is cool.  I much prefer saying, "War is Life in extremes."

Thought this was funny when my cousin yelled when we were playing, "Incoming Pineapple."  Just the way he said it.  Usually it a good warning to move your ass out of there.

lol, had to bust the Art of War out. Great book.

For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.

"Hannible knew how to gain a victory but not how to use it." ~(can't remember)~

"Don't Fight Fire with Smoke." Me talking about the German expansion before WWII, and the British and French inactivity on the point.  In other words they thought Hitler wouldn't go to war if they gave him what they wanted and threw smoke at the growing fire.

"Now your soul may belong to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the Marine Corps" ~FMJ~

"Draft beer; not people."  ~Author Unknown  (Amen to that.)

Pretty much if you want a lot of sayings about war just google it.  I think I posted a lot of thoughtful ones.

some flyboy jokes : D
"Never trade luck for skill."

"I remember when sex was safe and flying was dangerous."

"Advice given to RAF pilots during WWII: When a prang (crash) seems inevitable, endeavor to strike the softest, cheapest object in the vicinity as slow and gently as possible."

"Basic Flying Rules: Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."

"If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter -- and therefore, unsafe"
