BF2S Forums Who else is taking the SAT on SATurday?

Is this test mandatory? We don't get SATs in Canada, just PAT every three grades.
Provincial Achievement Tests in grade 3, 6, 9, and 12.

Only Alberta gets PATs. The rest of the country doesn't.

Oh well, at least I scored high on my grade 12 diploma exams (all in the standard of excellence category).
Now i'm in University in the shithole labelled engineering. Fuck my life.

and it's not like I got an 800 on math and shitty scores on the other sections the second time around. oh no. my math stayed the exact fucking same

the sad thing is that a 660 on critical reading (my highest was 670, on the first time I took it) is better than like 92% of the nation. are people fucking illiterate?

@Ryan it's not necessarily mandatory. Many colleges on the East and West coasts require either the SAT or the ACT (which is a different test). Most schools want the SAT, but schools in the midwest tend to receive more ACT scores than SAT scores.

Honestly that's four fucking hours of my life that would have been just as well spent jacking off to tentacle porn. At least I wouldn't have a shittier score that I'm REQUIRED to show to colleges. Y'see, when you send your SAT score report to colleges, the College Board sends all the scores you have on your repertoire. Most colleges only take the best scores from each section but still.

What's stupid is that for the current juniors (AKA anyone graduating high school in 2010) and all people after them, they get to choose which scores to send.

Most colleges don't have a set requirement for scores. However, the College Board's site has profiles of practically every university / college in the nation, along with some abroad. These profiles show the middle 50% score range for SATs. I believe that means that 50% of students admitted had SAT scores within the range listed (they list for each section). So only 25% were under, and only 25% were above that range.

I know Virginia Tech requires a minimum of 600 on the math section for freshman admission to engineering, otherwise you have to take their general studies stuff for a semester.
