cpt.fass1 a person's life in a womb shouldn't be decided by the mother either. Most women get knocked up by their own actions and take their faults on the child in the womb. People raped or by forced incest can put the child in foster care. Their have been cases where women who have aborted babies regret it, so emotionally they can get worked up as well. They can put children in foster care or adoption if they don't want it and can benefit for the best. As I said I bet those children in foster homes are happy to be alive than be aborted.
Life begins with the zygote. Rights begin at birth.
Every sperm is sacred,
Every sperm is great,
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.
Let the heathen spill theirs,
On the dusty ground,
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.
Every sperm is wanted,
Every sperm is good,
Every sperm is needed,
In your neighborhood.
(Monty Python Every Sperm is Sacred song)
I once saw some pro choice activists singing this song in a counter protest to an anti-abortion protest.
The bewildered looks of the anti-abortionist was priceless... ROFL
I think that life begins when it becomes viable outside the body. The problem is that technology keeps pushing the envelope of what is viable and it probably won't take long to get to the point where a single sperm could be taken to term... or a single egg???
When that day comes I'm gonna be a mass murderer everytime I watch porn.

That is NOT why miscarriages happen. Miscarriages happen when a fetus or the womb is not viable. It is not seen as foreign...it simply doesn't function normally and results in a spontaneous abortion.SEREVENT wrote:
Miscarriadges happen because the human body tries and destroys anything foreign inside it, enerything ranging from a flu virus to a baby. Thats why they often happen in the first 3 months of pregnancy.Dilbert_X wrote:
Miscarriages happen, really these are natural abortions when the mothers body detects something undesirable in the fetus, or sometimes they just occur for some unknown reason (as I understand it).
It's NOT an attempt by the body to destroy something foreign (that's the Rh factor issue, which is completely separate). And it's not really that hard to find information on.

Sperm fertalizes egg. Cells start to divide, ect.
I think Diesel's got the right idea.
If we banned abortion in America, it would just make a bad situation even worse.

I say conception. It is the first time where the cell has unique, human DNA and can function/reproduce.

But, seriously, my opinion is that life really begins when the fetus can survive seperately from the mother. That makes it at about 21 weeks after fertalization.

There, how about that?

Such a ridiculous argument. The 9 months of pregnancy can turn a woman's life utterly upside down and if she has already been through the trauma of rape then she has every right to choose not to go through that. Also Warhammer, imagine the horror of being raped by a guy, now imagine that after this trauma has taken place the sperm that this filthy rapist has ejaculated inside of you will now grow into a living incarnation of this person who has raped you... prtetty nightmarish. Rape is the ultimate violation and in my opinion it is entirely up to the victim how they want to deal with the aftermath.Warhammer wrote:

I don't agree with abortion as a form of 'contraception' in ordinary circumstances though.

seems a bit of deft governmental sleight of hand has insured that women here are not to be afforded the same rights that those in the rest of the union enjoy, no doubt pay back to the DUP for their voting infavour of 42 day detention..jord wrote:

These include a proposal to extend abortion rights to Northern Ireland and a measure which would cut the number of doctors needed to approve an abortion.
Campaigners on both sides of the debate are said to be angry at the timetable......
Liberal Democrat science spokesman Evan Harris said: "It seems that this is simply a device by government to deny Parliament a say on a free-vote issue and it's control freakery at its worst."
But the Alive and Kicking Alliance - an umbrella organisation of anti-abortion groups - said "a small cross-party group of MPs with extreme views had been planning to hijack the Bill" and said revision of abortion law needed "more careful consideration".
The amendments which could be lost include a proposal that one doctor - rather than two - should have to sign their approval for an abortion, and a proposed extension of the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland.
The practice is illegal in Northern Ireland except in exceptional medical circumstances, such as when the mother's health is at risk.
It has been reported that ministers are reluctant to allow a vote on these issues given the strength of opposition among Northern Ireland MPs and fears that the House of Lords could block other proposals.
The Commons rejected plans to lower the time limit for terminations, when Labour MPs were given a free vote on the issue in May.
Wow Roc just wow... Your mom told you that she was thinking of aborting you? That's pretty hardcore and really fucked up.. But they wantted to keep you so it turned out that they actually wantted you, and raised you in a "loving"? home..
Ever circumstance is different and they were adults when they got into the situtation so they can choose how they want to handle it.. There are much worse things that can happen to people, AKA dumpster babies, drowned babies. I'm not some morally perfect person, nor do I want to be, but it's the persons choice to do what they want to do, no one elses.
If they regret it they just have to live with it, it's not an easy decission and it's one of personal choice. So let people make their own choices and I'm sure this world will become a better place for everyone.

For you information my mother died when I was 5 and I have a horrible relationship with my father he happened to tell me that in an arguement, fucked up right? I can tell you I rather be alive right now than be aborted because I was unplanned, you are going into a totally different argument saying that there are much worse things that can happen to someone instead of seeing my point.cpt.fass1 wrote:

Hearts can be stopped, started, placed in suspended animation and even replaced. They are bio-mechanical machines. Your experience, the whole of it, is tied to the material connection; interaction; of consciousness (a metaphysical question about the observer in reality) with the living tissue; another bio-mechanical machine; called the (i.e. your) brain.

Braddock, my point was to also show that women who intentionally do go into intercourse and abort do suffer emotional problems. I said SOME cases not all. The thing is you can put the child up for adoption or foster care without you taking care of the incarnation the woman perceives it to be. I understand how severe rape is, but the punishment should be put up to the person who committed the crime. Not the child growing inside her; the child inside her can make its own choices when it grows up. The child has genetic traits of the person committing the crime, but that does not automatically make the child follow the footsteps of the biological father the child makes its own decisions when it grows up just like you.
Since abortion has been permitted in the United States, it had grown to where partial-birth abortion as well can be taken. It led to one thing to another in degrees of taking a procedure. Some children even survive these procedures and the doctors come back and kill them for sure to finish the procedure even when it is breathing and living with a heartbeat.

The child should never have existed in the first place, the victim had no choice in that matter when it was being decided, now you want to tell her that she deserves no choice in how to deal with the aftermath? No siree Bob. I know the child is innocent in all of this but that is a secondary factor in my book, the mental and physical health of the victim trumps all... and if she wants to get rid of the unwanted child as quickly as possible before her life is turned any more upside down than it already is then that is up to her.Warhammer wrote:

Some people talk about having a child as though it's like taking a fucking walk in the park; they never go into detail and talk about stretch marks, torn vaginas, stitches, post natal depression, incontinence, diminished sexual sensation or the actual difficulties it might cause in terms of future relationships, work or college.
Of course a child is being killed, an innocent child... but it doesn't change the fact that an innocent rape victim deserves the right to decide how to deal with the aftermath of her trauma; and if she wants to stop her life being turned any more upside down than it already is then that is up to her.Stingray24 wrote:
