My vote goes to the Versailles Treaty. Any other suggestions?
Hitler
I agree. If you want to go even deeper, european imperialism and competition.
I'd say a mix of post WWI resentment in Germany, coupled with poor leadership following, and the general will of the public for improvement of Deutschland, which coupled with the enigmatic speaker Hitler was, led to a country being turned relativitly overnight into a Facist state, led by a man with ideas of roughly world dominance (see Third Reich)
So basically the royal fuckover Germany received at Versailles, and the NSDAP leadership.

Versailles Treaty raping the shit outta post war Germany, and European appeasement of Hitler.

I just read the unnecessary war. It was interesting. I don't agree with certain viewpoints. But still .. interesting.
The author seemed to want to make Hitlers case.

The Versailles Treaty was just one part of it, if Germany was treated the same way after WW1 as they where after WW2 it may have looked differently and Hitlers rise to power would have been way more difficult ... religion had some part in it, Hitler firmly believed the Jews was destroying Germany not sharing their wealth for the good of all ... don't think appeasement had much to do with it at all, a swifter responce would only have sparked the war at an earlier stage ...

However, it wasn't poor leadership, it was great leadership. He led the reform of Germany and was a hero of Germany for doing it. They suffered post Versailles, then the Great Depression. It was a huge effort and achievement to get them into a position even to come close to fighting a war in Europe.
Had he been a poor leader, he wouldn't have been able to joins the German Workers' Party 1919, help form the Nazi Party and within a year become Leader of of it. He was tried for treason, but wrote Mein Kampf while in prison. He went from prisoner to Chancellor in a very short time.
After he came to power (during his early time in the Nazi power one could argue also) was when the true madness of his leadership came into fruition.

How about a thread on the primary cause of the Pacific theatre's conflicts?
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Versailles, appeasement, Hitler, and the anti-semitism that revolved around Europe at that time, and therefore gave the Nazis a bit of an extra leg to stand on.
Often believed that if force was shown early on against Hitler he would have backed down and possibly lost support.

not enough german people laughing at Hitler and calling him a daft cunt tbh..
The Japanese invading China and the Germans invading Poland...duh...
I don't think there is ONE factor. Versailles was definitely a strong factor for the European theater. Japan's resentment of Western treatment was another huge factor.

A winner from me too. But you could take it back even further if you really wanted toCameronPoe wrote:
