McCain has exactly a snowballs chance in hell of becoming president.

Er um.. that's exactly what they said.. It was the Washington post that said he was advising Obama's campaign.Raines has had some dealings with the Obama campaign
Main Hope? I find that hard to believe considering they, the candidates themselves, have rarely mentioned it. What they have focused on is the Democrats blocking the attempts to regulate Fannie/Freddie. Which is also indisputable.ATG wrote:

Because the Republicans are all about tight regulation in the financial markets?Kmarion wrote:

They should have started the FBI instigation a decade ago. They'de be tossing salads for smokes right now instead of advising the Democratic candidate for president.Main Hope? Jesus .. how many times do I have to explain this? The Bill didn't officially die until 2007. The Dems kept it hung up in the committee using what is called a filibuster. The republicans didn't have everyone on board, but they did have most. You need 60 votes to break a filibuster, and neither party had it. Learn about how government works before you start telling us why it isn't working.ATG wrote:

Calm down there. I meant that the Republicans can't use the democrats crappy regulations and oversights of the financial sector as an angle against the Democrats as they were doing the same thing themselves.Kmarion wrote:
I love it when someone starts their rebuttal with the word "because". It's almost as if to say, "I know you didn't say this, but this is what I'm going to try and make it look like you were saying". Luckily you followed it up "oops". Otherwise you would have came off as weak and immature.
I was actually going to add that the GOP has also got deregulation stamped on their ass. But I assumed some foreigner would come in here and tell me how it really is.

At least McCain has been outspoken.
Do you want to compare fallouts? Do you want to look and see who was the benefactor of said fallouts and the resulting biggest bailout in human history? Naaaaah, just keep putting words in my mouth.
