Biden's glory hole?

Gee if the comments upset you that much, sorry I mentioned that in the Republicans campaign, both McCain and Palin strategy is based on the pair pushing the Maverick tagline whenever they want to qualify themselves as capable of running the United States of America because they think the public really want 2 mavericks in the White House.

Fair enough, she did not cry, she did not freeze up and she did not do anywhere near as bad as anyone expected but she still came across as a complete greenhorn... only a greenhorn who had been heavily briefed in the last couple of days.

Biden went pretty soft on her in my opinion, he came across as a very patriarchal figure because of the dynamic between the two and I have to say he seemed to come across as a pretty safe pair of hands too. He was much more rigorous in picking Palin up on points she was making, in comparison Palin was pretty poor and when she did succeed in picking Joe up on something she managed to come across as a little bitchy and acerbic (but that's neither here nor there really).

Basically Palin is an inexperienced, one-trick pony. She is on the ticket because she is a pretty, God fearing, small town, middle-class, hockey mom... that's all she's bringing to the table (in other words "fuck all").
That is to me why she succeeds.  I am sick of my government being full of lawyers and corrupt politicians.  She is neither.  She was brought in as an outsider by McCain.  If McCain dies we may have a person that expresses Americans veiws and acts upon our behalf.  What a fucking concept.

Vote McCain and hope he dies, that is my motto.
Well I guess we differ on that front. I like my country to be run by someone with experience (both political and professional) and with something special in terms of leadership and ability that separates them from the common man... otherwise I'd be demanding to get the job myself, I'm a common 'Joe Public' sort of a guy, why shouldn't I be allowed to get my mits on the controls?

Well the elite politicans have turned the government into a way fleece its citizens and get rich.  I would rather have someone in power that cares about America and what's best for it, than 50 people that graduated from Yale with honors.

Government is not that hard, making right vs wrong decisions is not that hard.  Give yourself some credit, on any given day I can see the US congress split fairly even on an issue that only has two sides, and they are professionals.

Note:  wholly fuck nuts, I just got Karma from Sara Palin.  I'm in luv.........

Upset? No. The "Maverick" has bucked his party one some key issues. McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Kennedy,.. torture. Just to name a few.

McCain's capitulation on the torture legislation is probably one of the biggest political blunders I've seen.  The guy really should know better, being a former POW.  Its like a black guy authorizing a bill that allows vigilante hangings to occur based on "judgement of the local citizenry".

McCain has repeatedly shown that his "maverickiness" was just a cover to get himself injected into negotiations that would otherwise be closed to him, just so he could push the Bush administration agenda wherever possible.

Just like with any conservative parody, dig just 1 step deeper than the talking point and you find out the reverse is true.

She has probably set the record for the most "corrupt" abuses of power anyone can achieve with such a relatively short political career in a relatively free country.  She was brought in as a VPILF by McCain to give him some conservative credentials and boost his embarrassingly tiny rally attendance numbers.  She's also batshit crazy to boot, her arrogant demeanor, inability to tell the truth about even minor details, and back-stabbing that has been noted by nearly everyone that has worked both for and against her in the last few years paints a picture of someone at least marginally mentally disturbed (class II Personality Disorder - Histrionic, Anti-social, Narcissistic - for you psych students).

We've already had a classic narcissist/anti-social running the country for the last 8 years, no thanks to 8 more.

"Government is not that hard"... quote of the day I reckon!

In that case I ask you this: do you think America will vote in, for a third consecutive term, a party that has made Government look very, very fucking hard over the last 8 years?

Lousiana boy, I said I didn't know, I didn't insinuate anything.  You've got paranoia from Palin dude, get that checked out.

In other terms, did she report on the thousands she stole while being governor and mayor?

Don't play coy Kmarion. We all know which side is pushing the "maverick reformer" appellation.

But the McCain campaign touted Palin, 44, who spent most of the debate looking straight into the camera as she spoke and occasionally winking, as "direct, forceful and a breath of fresh air," said communications director Jill Hazelbaker.

"Tonight, Governor Palin proved beyond any doubt that she is ready to lead as Vice President of the United States. She won this debate, putting Joe Biden on defence on energy, foreign policy, taxes and the definition of change," she said.

"The American people saw stark contrasts in style and worldview. They saw Joe Biden, a Washington insider and a 36-year Senator, and Governor Palin, a Washington outsider and a maverick reformer.”
Just for you.
Huh? Ajax_the_Great1 said he heard her say Maverick a bajillion times. I was simply making the point that it came out of Biden's glory hole more.
Just for you.
Thank you for quoting my full name. Nobody would get who you were talking about if you just wrote Ajax, what with the forums being full of Ajax's and all.

I remember Biden only brought it up during one part of his speech though.

IMO they should just stop with it already. It's getting a little embarrassing at this point.

Cheers just discovered it on the bbc.

Watched about ten minutes of it I'm too tired but I swear Joe wants to bone Sarah.

She isn't actually too bad I expected Joe to absolutely destroy her.

He could have, but he was warned repeatedly to hold back and not come off as too brainy (by knowing stuff...you know?) or too violent (by putting that nincompoop in her place).  There was a lesson learned in the 2000 elections with the Gore/Bush debates.  Gore knew more, had the facts and figures, had better points, was more articulate, and better on policy...Bush was better at "relating" to the average American beer-guzzling couch monkey.  Guess who won the debate?

Who won the debate? It totally depends on what your predisposition was. If you were an Obama fan, you think Biden won. If you're a McCain fan, you think Palin won.

As an undecided, I thought they each got their shots in, and each won their share of points...very similar to the Presidential debate.

But the people arguing on this site...where there appears to be very few who haven't already made up their minds, is pointless. If you've made up your mind, neither the debates nor posts on this forum will change it.

Biden win.
https://i38.tinypic.com/1fz1wh.jpg

Palin Win
https://i37.tinypic.com/6odctx.jpg

I'd say about half the hands go up. O'Brien then inexplicably says, "So, looks overwhelming." Then she asks who thought Palin won. Again, about half the hands go up and she describes it as "small hands." Then she quickly declares Biden the winner and calls it a day.

Hey, how about a roll call, Soledad? Now to my eye, it looks pretty evenly split. I counted 12 for Biden and 11 for Palin. But take a look for yourself. Call me naive, but this kind of blatant bias still has the power to surprise me a little still. And for some reason when it comes to Sarah Palin, the media has just lost any connection with reality, decency, fairness...etc...

Now, does she forget that we can see her? Or does she think we can't count? Does she not know about TiVo? Or perhaps she can't imagine a universe that would allow the thought of Sarah Palin whooping up on her candidate?
I counted 13/11.. but still
