PS: I don't think usmarine is a Republican, he's more _____ (fill in the blank if you want) than he's political. As far Kmarion goes he's moderately moderate. A Republican - eh, I guess if he has to labeled. Does he? I was a Republican once - but no more. Does that make me an almost Republican? I don't think so. The only reason I ever did vote
repugnant was in hopes they'd be fiscally conservative they've never been, in the whole course of my adult life. I wasn't old enough to vote in Regan's first term. Second term I did and regretted it. He was a deficit creating, easily manipulated, senile old man. After that what was the point? Bush senior? No way. Though I liked Bob Dole, I voted for Willy twice. He towed the common US foreign policy line (almost all presidents do) which I didn't like (and no he didn't dismantle the military - some people are stupid beyond belief). Then there's G.W. "HATE HIM." Now as far as McCain goes up until 2006 I thought he deserved some respect. But, that all changed when he flip-flopped on most issues he used to be pro choice for one - now he panders to the religious right and he's "pro-life." He disqualified himself with that. And after choosing Palin he summarily dismissed himself a second time. What an insult to choose that unqualified nobody with no brains. Palin's 15 min.s of fame are here, Andy Warhol has risen from the grave and McCain is channeling him. I swear this must be some sort of intellectual performance art directed from the grave highlighting just how absurd life and politics can be.
He's over 70 and this is his last chance. So he's pandering to those who eat rhetoric up and the religious right. One friend said sure but "he's still a Maverick! He'll back down from the bullshit he's pandering to now - and be himself once elected." I said, "sure if you say so."
