Not at all. I have made a ton of threads (sincerely) attacking the GOP. You are choosing to only recall the threads that are in disagreement with your world view. That's the problem with your type. If I'm not in agreement with you 100% of the time then I must be an extreme right pawn in disguise. I am one of the few moderates here. Turquoise was another but you guys chased him off.

I am flaming liberal. I don't pretend to be a moderate. Get what done exactly? Hand Paulson a blank check with no oversight of how its used?

I know people like you love this whole fuck reading the bill thing, just pass it cause W said so. It's probably a shock to actually see debate before a bill. Especially after having that good ol boy republican majority for so long.

Think for yourself for once. Does this bill make sense? No. It doesn't.

I just like how the plan put forward by the Dems included $100mil for ACORN, a group being investigated for voter fraud.
http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/c … ;dist=hppr

ACORN has registered 500k new voters in Florida and 58% of them happen to be Dems give them the edge in that part of the state.

And the Democrats have the gall to say the Republicans are making this political?

Both parties are fucking worthless, and both candidates are shit. Its just the same contents, different package.

Oh come on Kam, that's the only way shit gets done in the government. Holding balls over the flames(ours not theirs)

Both parties want to be seen as the saviors of the US economy because of the election, not just the Presidential, but Congress seats as well.
Both parties remind me of Iraqis, you catch them red handed and they deny all of it. You talk to them more and their story changes 5 times and by the time you get them to the collection point, they weren't their . Oh, and they can't live and work together because they are greedy.

Why has this storm been brewing for years yet our Sec of Treasury had it sneak up on him like this? Oh yeah, he hasn't lost his house so shit must be good. Let's hand HIM 700 billion dollars. he deserves this responsibility.

This storm has been brewing since the 90's. It didn't just happen in the last 8yrs. I am hold both parties responsible for ruining our economy.

Edit: If you look at it this storm has been brewing since the early 70's. When our Nation got hooked on foreign oil like a nympho on cock.

Negative.

I agree both parties are shit but non of my fag.... I mean fellow americans have the balls to vote for a third party. Or is your suggestion is to not vote at all? Because that is a great plan.

Overspending caused this. I see only one administration that has overspent more than any other in history. Now its everyone's fault. No.

I think we should vote for a third party, America needs to stand up and demand better than the shit we have been getting.

And yes, It is everyone's fault. This administration has over spent, yes. The previous administration forced the lending industry to lower their standards for loans, yes.

And who can forget the good ole American public. We saw that the values of our homes were sky rocketing and we jumped on it. We took loans out that we should have never been able to get and we bought every toy we could get our hands on.

When I was doing loans I would talk to people that were stuck in upside down loans. I would ask them what type of cars they had, 80% of the time it was a luxury car. So insted of using the loan like it was intended(to take the capital saved and invest it) theywent and bought the wife that benz she has been wanting.

So please don't try and lay the blame on one group of people here, we all caused this.

Overspending is one of my primary beefs with this admin. I'm not just talking about fighting wars neither. We continue to play the role of sugar daddy to Israel and Subsaharan Africa. Meanwhile, at home, our economy crumbles, our borders remain unsecured, and our infrastructure collapses (literally).

However, it's not just the lack of executive fiscal responsibility that caused this. It is also the lack of oversight that allowed the GSE's to abuse the system. There is a distinct money trail that can be followed from Fannie/Freddie right into the pockets of our congressional leaders. That bothers me.. big time.

But thats the thing. The Democrats have had control of the House and Senate for how long? Why wasn't a bill passed before this crisis? Why wasn't something done about the over spending of our government? It's because in every bill no matter what type, their is a slush fund that pays for all the pet projects and vacation homes.

Like Kam said follow the money trail right back to the pockets of our elected leaders. Look at it this way, there is only a desperate problem now because the lenders are gone, ie "campaign contributions" have gone the way of the dodo bird.

They've had control for 2 years. Republicans had it for 12. 6 years of blank checks from a republican congress to a republican President is to be fixed by two years of democrats with a 1 vote majority? Or the Secretary of the Treasury could have stood up a long time ago.

PS: I don't think usmarine is a Republican, he's more _____ (fill in the blank if you want) than he's political. As far Kmarion goes he's moderately moderate. A Republican - eh, I guess if he has to labeled. Does he? I was a Republican once - but no more. Does that make me an almost Republican? I don't think so. The only reason I ever did vote repugnant was in hopes they'd be fiscally conservative they've never been, in the whole course of my adult life. I wasn't old enough to vote in Regan's first term. Second term I did and regretted it. He was a deficit creating, easily manipulated, senile old man. After that what was the point? Bush senior? No way. Though I liked Bob Dole, I voted for Willy twice. He towed the common US foreign policy line (almost all presidents do) which I didn't like (and no he didn't dismantle the military - some people are stupid beyond belief). Then there's G.W. "HATE HIM." Now as far as McCain goes up until 2006 I thought he deserved some respect. But, that all changed when he flip-flopped on most issues he used to be pro choice for one  - now he panders to the religious right and he's "pro-life." He disqualified himself with that. And after choosing Palin he summarily dismissed himself a second time. What an insult to choose that unqualified nobody with no brains. Palin's 15 min.s of fame are here, Andy Warhol has risen from the grave and McCain is channeling him. I swear this must be some sort of intellectual performance art directed from the grave highlighting just how absurd life and politics can be.

He's over 70 and this is his last chance. So he's pandering to those who eat rhetoric up and the religious right. One friend said sure but "he's still a Maverick! He'll back down from the bullshit he's pandering to now - and be himself once elected." I said, "sure if you say so."

12yrs, that means a Democrat Sec of the Treasury was in at the beginning. In the 2yrs they have had majority what have they done?

All this shows me is the care or lack of, of the American People. Both parties champion for us saying the other is shit, but that is all is is now, a smear fest. They could give a damn about us.

That is a very simplistic view of how government works. It's very easy to go back and look at who was voting for what. There is only one candidate who has voted for more housing oversight. However it never left the committee. Unfortunately this is mostly due to the fact that Chris Dodd was the ranking member of the Banking Committee (Now it's chairman).
