I stopped doing these because a few things happened at roughly the same time, first I went back to school, second BF2s went fairly boring for a few weeks and third the monitor on my computer broke.
In retrospect, I also was not very proud of them, though people seemed to like them, it was probably more due to the value of seeing what certain BF2s events would have looked like if they played out in real life as opposed to on the forums. The writing wasn't that good and the jokes are ones you have heard before, as well as more exploitation of BF2s inside jokes than I would have liked (Kez being portayed as a woman is the most obvious). Also I felt I could have done better on the editing. So really the only thing I felt I did a decent job with was the GMod posing and such.
I could bring it back, but it would feel so out of place after a year and a half hiatus, also while I probably would be able to write them better, definitely be able to edit them better, and BF2s is much more interesting now than at the time I stopped making these, I still don't think I'd be satisfied with the final product. Also, as I feel that I'm more involved with the mayhem and lulz on BF2s now than I was back then, it would be difficult to continue to write them with my character being a passive observer and emotionless commentator, when in actuality I'm likely to be an instigator or otherwise active participant in the event's I'd have to "report on."
So I don't plan on ever doing another one, and while yes I do often think about restarting it after a particularly funny incident, I'd need to completely rewrite everything even if I did, and that's the main reason why even when I really want to start them again, I don't because it'd require more time to rewrite the scenario than I ever had the time to do. I wouldn't have to change my character much, but the roles of certain "characters" on BF2s have changed, as have my attitudes towards them.
However currently the most important reason why I'm not going to restart these is time management. When I did those back in summer 2008, I had 24 hours in a day to work on them, my brother spent 8 hours a day at work, 4 watching TV and 12 asleep, so I had quite and privacy, now he's not working and I have neither. Also I'd have to completely kill it off after a few weeks because I'll be going back to school. And while I would have the quite and privacy needed there, I didn't do so well last semester and I need to get my grades back up, and while I did enjoy making these I'll need to ration my free time much more tightly, and I'd probably rather spend that with my friends, playing games or trolling here.
While I might restart over the summer, I'd have probably forgotten by then, also I am hoping to finally get a job this summer, and if that happens then I'd certainly not be able to do them. So don't get your hopes up, at this point there is like a 10% chance I will ever make another one. However if someone else were to take up the mantle, you'd have my blessing.
