'Against teaching it'? Ignore her comments to the Anchorage Daily News then so...
To even nearly associate yourself with that nonsense is enough to warrant the compulsory wearing of a dunce cap imo.
first this quote contradicts itself
"As a candidate for governor,
Sarah Palin called for teaching creationism alongside evolution in public schools. <------ Note, says she called for it to be taught b4 elected.
But after Alaska voters elected her, Palin,
kept her campaign pledge to not push the idea in the schools." <------- Note, says she pledged not push for it to be taught b4 elected.
So, I would say your sources are pretty poor. Obviously you can not cite where she " AS GOVENOR " pushed for it to be taught. Thus, she is not for having it taught in school.
But yeah, it makes for a nice lie to spread.
I mean OBVIOUSLY. CNN is SUCH a poor source.
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/11/palin.truth/She believes in about the dumbest thing you can believe in this modern world, that should be enough to not allow her to be vice president.
I mean, dinosaurs were COOL. She doesn't believe in them?!
Why can't she refuse to believe in tax returns or laws? It would make her a much more interesting character....
http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/12http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/12Gee I believe the second quote was from:
According to the Anchorage Daily News, Palin asked Wasilla's city librarian in 1996 if she would be OK with removing certain books as part of a larger discussion on policy. The librarian said no, and there's no evidence supporting a book ban.
In fact, some of the books cited on this list weren't even published 12 years ago -- namely the Harry Potter series, which first appeared in July 1997.
Another false claim churning in the rumor mill: that Palin slashed Alaska's special-needs education budget by more than 60 percent.
According to a recent Education Week article, Palin tripled the amount of money each student will get during the next three years.
NICE SOURCE you should have read it yourself.
"But some rumors do have a bit of truth.
It's been rumored that Palin wants to teach creationism in schools. While she vowed not to add it to Alaska's curriculum, she has spoken in favor of classroom discussion of both creationism and evolution.
"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. it doesn't have to be part of the curriculum," Palin told the Anchorage Daily News in a 2006 interview."
Please note the important parts: if it comes up in class it doesn't have to be part of the curriculum
