Hi all

I get kicked by PB a lot, for all the normal and now only mildly enraging reasons like:

-Failing to respond to MD5 queries (once every two game sessions perhaps)
-PB B initialisation failure - pls reinstall (once per session, despite reinstalling with pbexe and updating with pbsvc EACH time I play at least once)

But the error I get most often is 'Corrupted packet flow' and this is the one that will give me a coronary.

-I disable Norton Antivirus/firewall as much as is possible and PBa and PBb are listed as exceptions anyway.
-I do have Steam on my machine (which I mention only because I hate it)

I realise that other people have posted similar 'Missing key packets' 'No data' etc, but I wondered if anyone else had seen this particular version and had sorted it out.

Please help before I jihad jeep evenbalance's offices.

I am patched to 1.41

Regards

Kuffar

Thanks. I have been debating that, need to check whether I have an online authorisation code for it for the eventual reinstall.

Problem is that wife uses the computer also.

Edit:

Not running it through Steam, god knows what that's like

tbh you don't really need norton.  there are plenty of free AV and spyware blocking programs out there.  Just keep your firewall on, and let windows defender do its thing and you'll be protected.

Yup, going to uninstall the fecker and replace with free stuff as it takes around three to four minutes for my desktop to become responsive on boot.

Is it most likely then that Norton is corrupting the packet flow as well as hogging resources?

I think a lot of people have expressed problems with Norton and BF2 ... Norton is just too overbearing.  I use aVast! (free from avast.com), which is a great anti-virus program.  I have never had a virus/trojan/etc. in over 3-4 years with aVast and, aVast plays nicely with BF2 and every other game I play.

Many thanks for the tip. I will try that or AVG tonight, assuming wife doesn't go feral on me.

Thanks for the help everyone who posted.
