yeah my game crashed too when i was playing space stage, took me right back to the start of the stage coz that was my last save, turned out to be good though, i needed that first go to learn the ropes and now in half the time my empire is 2x better than before.bennisboy wrote:
Well, I figured we might as well have a thread for talk about the game as a whole.
I got the game earlier today, I'm not blown away by it, but its pretty unique, makes for a nice change of pace from stalker.
I played for a few hours, have to say at first when I did the Cell stage I was a bit like but I got into it and decided not to take it to seriously, which is where I think you really get to enjoy the game.
Played a bit of creature phase as well before the game crashed and I lost ALL my play
Looked pretty promising.
So what does everyone else think?

indeed, the closed+ open beta was alsmost 5 months together.
if i make a project with a server with a network but it fails i cant say " lol hiccups and crashes are normal grade me in about one month"
and you downloaded it illigaly with this reason " I'd rather see the games industry shrivel up and die than take any more steps towards encouraging this DRM-protection / SecuROM crap"
this attitude ofd you is just like ours "EA fails me again"

if you've taken them with C.
if you just got outta the water it's Creature Stage...., I died quite a lot too till I could get a pact together with other of my species...
you have to dance or whatever in front of one of your own in your nest and then he joins you (remember only when you achieved this) then whenever you attack someone he/she is there too (up to 4 or something).
guess Carnivores are the Hulks of the woods then.Sup wrote:

I'm not sure creature / tribal alliances do help you out in combat and conquest- but it would be awesome if they did! As far as I understand (and as far as the game explained to me whilst I was playing), alliances only serve as remote-bases and small outposts in the wilds. If you're bashing on some creature packs and need to reheal very quickly, simply run back to an allies' base and they heal you. That's all they do as far as I know . Shame because there is room for so much more... but maybe the devs thought it would take away from the simplicity of the game..Sup wrote:

Its a God-game on the biggest scale imaginable. Think The Sims meets Black & White meets every classic mini-game of gaming history, such as Pac-Man. You start off as a single-celled organism playing a very rudimentary version of Pac-Man, swimming around the primordial gloop eating other micro-bacteria smaller than yourself. You slowly grow and advance more and more through the consumption of other creature's DNA until you're basically the biggest fish in the tidepool. And then, to cut a long story short, you crawl onto land and become a creature; you gain some form of brain and sentience and form small creature-packs; you slowly develop a bigger and bigger creature family and 'group'; you then eventually become intelligent enough to discover fire and form tribes; you then dominate all other tribes (ala Age of Empires); you then advance and develop into a civilisation and go to conquer other civilisations (ala Command & Conquer, Civ-series); and then finally you enter the space-race and enter into a new conquest of galactic supremacy. You play God throughout the entire process... customising and deciding every little thing that makes your creature, what your creature looks like, what 'personality' and tendencies your creature has (loosely separated into Carnivores, Omnivores and Herbivores in the earlier stages), what vehicles and technology your creature has, what buildings and culture your society develops... it just goes on and on. But wait! The best thing about this massive concept is that it is done in a remarkably simplistic and artistic way.MadKatter wrote:

So far it looks like you make a race of creatures, and play "conquer the world". Anyone who can elaborate?

Restart civ stage?kptk92 wrote:
I really am stuck now:
I'm surrounded by 9 other cities on my planet (I'm on Civ Stage) all being controlled by Green Nation. I have given the max amount of gifts I can possibly give to boost my friendship with them. However, it isn't enough to become their ally and they're a massive nation: they have all the money via Spices. I don't have a sea city so no air vehicles for me. I can't use ICBMs either so all I have is a low amount of cash and not a very strong military. Now Green Nation have declared war on me, and I am getting absolutely fucked sideways. I can't capture any cities because their military is pounding mine into the ground.
I am truly fucked
I will when I get my legit copy, for now I've just worked through the torrented version of the game. My online-capable version is in the post ..Sup wrote:
