At home yes, except on Thursdays.

I know that it may be slightly contradictive to have a daughter doing what she's doing when you purport to stand for so many political ideals... but as already discussed, there's only so much 'control' you can excercise over your child. And who are the American public kidding when they make such a big deal out of the leaked images / news-- as if every other American middle-class girl doesn't get up to the same antics. Drinking underage and premarital sex are hardly rare-crimes in Western societies. Perhaps it does say something about the girl if she's irresponsible enough to get pregnant whilst so young, and perhaps it does reflect somewhat on her mother, - but really people are using it as too much of a smear-campaign against her political ability and potential.

It's the media that does this. And they suck. We all know that. Obama doesn't even want it talked about, and has said so himself. I'm sure he wouldn't want anybody trash talking his daughters either.

Not according to that Dispatches episode I saw earlier! And they're always right; completely unbiased and objectively fair in their approach!

Modus operandi apparently was stoning and throwing homosexuals and girls that dress/act like boys off the highest cliff. Something to with the 'magical' interpretation of a line in the Qur'an about "casting them down"- which I'm pretty sure was meant metaphorically, but don't ruin the Salafi preacher's fun back in Saudi Arabia!

Just playin'.

I don't know but they're so turned on by it that they revisited the whole 'Secret Mosques' thing- something about Regent Park's mosque having small cells of fundamentalism and Saudi Arabian preaching, which apparently is rather hardcore in approach to non-believers and code-breakers. I take it all with a pinch of salt though (read: an entire Channel4-branded salt shaker).

Hey, I've said I don't think this is an issue that should effect the Presidential race but neither were the Obama 'stories'. I mean even if he was a fucking Muslim or whatever, are Muslims not allowed to run for President in the US?

Seen that the other day, Dispatches is a strange one... not sure what side their bread is buttered on. I mean they done an eye opening expose of anti-Islamic bias in the media and yet their own obsession with the topic of Islam only serves to further enforce the concept of Islam being something of a problem in society.

And just what should I read more of?

Both campaigns' websites? Done.

Every news article I can find on each candidate? Done.

Every TV news story, both national and local, that comes on about each candidate? Done.

Or do you have some special, secret, source of information that makes you somehow more knowledgeable than the rest of us? How about you turn down the arrogance a tad?

Spearhead wrote:

Palin and Obama are nothing alike.  And so whats your point, even if they were?  McCains only advantage over Obama was his experience, now that Palins his VP thats gone out the window.
And I guess Biden's experience makes up for Obama's lack thereof in your opinion?  Just how does McCain's VP pick cancel out Obama's lack of experience?

Spearhead wrote:

But your a conservative so I know it doesn't matter to you.  And I'm a liberal.  But something more than politics should tell you that you can't trust McCain.  He's flip flopped so much during the past 2 years its almost like John Kerry in 2004.  Only the Democrats haven't capitalized on it.
What matters to me is how experienced the top candidate is, not his VP selection. You can't trust any of them. Why? Because they are all politicians. Yes, even the messiah Obama is a politician.

The difference between you and I is that I haven't decided who to vote for yet. Absent a good debate of the issues and a detailed explanation of how they are actually going to implement their thus-far soundbite-deep talking points, nobody--not even you--knows what they will do in office.

So I'm going to go ahead and wait for the electoral process to work, if you don't mind.
I love how you're pretending to objective and not arrogant at the same time....

I never said Obama is a messiah.

Of course you can't trust any of them.

Stop putting words in my mouth Feos.  Thats proof of your arrogance right there.

I'm saying this only one more time, so take it or leave it.  McCains been using his experience as an advantage against Obama ever since Obama became a real threat to him (so did Hillary Clinton).  Now that McCain picked someone who has the same amount of experience, and arguably less qualified as a VP, that makes him a hypocrite

As for Palin and Obamas histories, if you still think they are equals, then I guess there's nothing more I can do.  All I'm going to say is that I think any rational person who read about both of their life stories would come to the conclusion that Obamas more qualified.  And NO, I'm not saying Obamas more qualified than McCain.

Why do you not care who the VP is?  They are one position away from being the most powerful human on Earth.  It matters more than you think.

I've never said anything about Obama to make you think I'm a sheep.  Just because I'm not a right wing whackjob doesnt mean I'm a card carrying democrat.

USmarine fyi I'm a registered independent.  so suck on that why dont ya.
if you keep this up he's not going to vote for Obama.

just like the same reason I cant stand ron paul is because of the army of assholes he has as his supprter more than anything else.  At least at first, then when I learned more about him, those guys got more assholey.

I didn't put words in your mouth. Nowhere did I say you called Obama a messiah. I was referring to the generic, doe-eyed followers who refuse to think critically about any of his policies and just say "Change!" like fucking Moonies or something.

And if you want to talk arrogance, how arrogant is you assuming that just because I disagree with you that I haven't read anything? How's that for fucking arrogance, Spearhead?

But Obama's followers have been saying the experience isn't important...but now it is. That makes them hypocrites. See how that works?

And you're entitled to your opinion. I'm also entitled to mine. I think that any rational person who reads about both of their experience will see that Obama is no more qualified for the top job than McCain's pick for the #2 job

Spearhead wrote:

You don't have the slightest clue what I think. Of course I care who the VP is, but much less than I care about who the President and Cabinet are. It's called understanding the likelihood of the President dying while in office...which is not very. That low likelihood makes the President and his advisory and policy-making body (the Cabinet) far more important.

Spearhead wrote:

When did I ever call you a sheep? And your implication of the opposite of a card-carrying democrat is offensive, to say the least.
