So i picked up my PS3 earlier today everything works fine except getting a picture via HDMI.

I read around for quite a time and tried what i can resetting, cursing, glaring at it with a evil eye nothing have worked so far. I get picture and all with the original scart but that´s not what im looking for.

The HDMI cable is brand new gold plattered piece of shit so im just gonna check if anyone here has a clue or knows something i dont, gonna try another cable when i can be arsed. Anyway im off for a game of poker rest of the night, feel free to give any advice

( I´m starting to suspect my TV here as well its a couple of years old but it "should" be ok with it )

When I was installing my PS3 it asked me during installation if I want to use HDMi, I confirmed and it worked.

You sure you selected the source to be HDMI on your Tv's remote?

Here is what you need to do. Hold the power button at the front of the PS3 for 3 seconds. You should hear couple of beeps.

It should work.

Turn the TV off and then on when you're using HDMI as source.

HDMi cable sucks. The quality is like no other but the interface shape is horrible.

When I first got my TV I had to play around with the cable for ages before i got a signal..

Try wiggling it a bit

I wigged it bad, anyway when i can be arsed gonna take the PS3 to a friend and see if theres a problem with the cable/console or my TV i suspect my TV even though its supposed to be fine ( supports HDCP ) Ordered a component cable meanwhile as i understood it wont be a huge difference so that will have to work for now.

TV is 720p/1080i but theres no option as i can find where i can manually set it.

What kind of resolution TV is it? If your TV is only 1080i and the PS3 is set to output to 1080p it wont register when you turn it on.

An update: I checked my PS3 at a friend it´s working fine so does my cable no problem so apparantly my TV has issues i emailed Samsung and will take it from there since my warranty has ended i dont expect any help.

There seems to be a "common" problem with several Samsung models and what i have gathered a new main board whatever that is could be needed to fix the issue if thats my case i probably will screw it and take a pee at my TV in a year or two when i´ll change it.

Thanks for your input.

Edit: The model is LE32S71B if anyone wanna know what model to avoid it´s pretty old now anyway so a small chance to end up with one.

So Im guessing your TV is 720p, yeah?

What resolution is your friends TV?

Yes we need to know the Resolution, because if your friends TV is 1080p and yours is 720 and your Sex station is set to 1080p it will not work on your TV, Shame it did'nt just show a portion of the image when its set to the like if tis 1080p your TV is 720p it will only show a portion of the image that can be displayed

I regularly move my PC around my house and thus change if from SD to HD and HD to SD. As someone said earlier I hold down the power button until I hear some beeps and it resets video and sound settings. And if HDMI is plugged in it asks weather to use it or not and it will auto detect settings.

We set the resolution at 720p at his TV so i assumed that it would follow when connected to my TV but didnt work. ( but yeah he has 1080p normaly )

You must've been able to see the screen staright off on your friends TV then. Which seems to suggest it was set to 1080p.

If it was set to anything other than 720p you would've seen it on your TV before you tried it on his.
