I didn't say you said it...in fact, I believe it was Spearhead.
I just find it humorous that those who jumped on the "Obama is teh changzors" bandwagon are the very same ones excoriating Palin. The same ones who said "no Washington experience is what we need" are the same ones criticizing Palin's apparent lack of experience...all the while overlooking the key difference in her experience and Obama's: executive experience. The people who are saying Obama's nomination is historic because he's black are the same ones who are completely silent on the historic nature of Palin's nomination. The people who say we should ignore Obama's relationship with his pastor of 20-plus years and a known domestic terrorist and a convicted felon are the same people who are saying we should give a shit about pregnancies in the Palin family.
Now who doesn't sound objective or sounds like an idealogue?
I still haven't decided who I'm going to vote for. But I think Palin was an excellent VP choice because she is a complement to McCain's weaknesses. I also think Biden was an excellent VP choice because he is a complement to Obama's weaknesses. I'm waiting for the two tickets to debate issues before I decide who I'm going to throw my weight behind. As of now, neither ticket has offered any specifics on any issues...yet people are blindly following both.

wanna know why Im voting for obama. I mean, I agree with a lot of his stances on social issues, thats one reason. I disagree with his stance on Iraq and in fact mccains is much closer to mine. I wasnt happy with Obama's flip flops but they were issues I didnt feel as strongly as I did over mccains flip flops.
I think the less people that own guns, the better because this country is full of irresponsible gun owners.
Obama's stance on foreign policy kind of gets on my nerves. I was especially angry when he was beating the war drums over pakistan. But that was taken out of context.
But I think McCain has shitty judgement and the more I learn about Palin, the more I dislike her.
McCain reversing his position amongst the evangelicals sealed the deal for me. McCain, in my opinion, being the first to start the attack ads only further enhanced my disdain. The fact that he brings up his time in POW camp when asked about how many homes he owns is fucking ridiculous.
McCain seems really insincere when he speaks.
The guy was responsible for losing millions of dollars of tax payer money over north vietnam (bad joke)
but I always liked Richardson.
And on a personal level, I admire Obamas upbringing. I havent seen my father in near 20 years myself.

if you wanna bring up executive experience than you could check mccain off of that list as well.
I'm not talking about executive experience being a deal-breaker. I'd say that McCain's (and Biden's) decades of experience in the Senate far exceed the minimum.God Save the Queen wrote:

Why is McCains relationship with Gordon Liddy not questioned more vigorously? The Keating 5?
The idea of even questioning mccains patriotism is suicide. You know they say he was a collaborater for the Norh Vietnamese. I dont believe it, but if we are talking about Obama being a secret undercover muslim and this other stuff why doesnt that get nearly as much attention?

no
I have a lot of admiration for both Obama and McCain. They both have (and continue to) pandered to their base during the primaries. They both have failed to provide any level of detail on how they're going to fund their promises without identifying any offsets. Obama's latest ad says "middle class first". I'm middle class and I think that's a terrible sentiment.God Save the Queen wrote:

I think that bringing up how many homes a candidate owns is fucking ridiculous...and I think that McCain shouldn't use his POW experience as some kind of vote-getter. There are too many guys who suffered more and/or didn't return at all to turn it into something like that.
I haven't seen my father in 14 years...but I have no idea what that has to do with the election.
And the bottomline is that I don't really care why you want to vote for Obama. It's your choice...I'm just glad that you are taking your responsibilities as a citizen seriously by participating in the democratic process. I wish far more of our countrymen would do the same.

But leadership experience in general is a plus. I just wouldn't say that a squadron commander's experience qualifies him/her to run the country based solely on that experience.

Liddy: When the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms thugs come to kill your wife and children, to try to disarm you and they open fire on you. When they come at the point of a gun, force and violence, when you're going to defend yourself, use that Gerand [M-1 rifle]. That thing is 30-06, and it'll take 'em right out.
Caller: And yes, aim for the head.
Liddy: Absolutely.
Liddy: Arm yourself. Get instructed in how to shoot straight.
Caller: I've got weapons.
Liddy: Absolutely. And don't give 'em up, and don't register either.
Caller: No way. And I'm aiming between the eyes.
Liddy: There you go. That way their flak jackets won't protect them.
maybe youve seen all your life's harships and miseries through the eye of the media like other people that think this kind talk is acceptable have?

Do you know what both of them did before they got into politics? I'd say that matters a lot and you either think it doesn't count or simply don't know. Read up on both of them and tell me with a straight face Obama and Palin are equals.FEOS wrote:
