Queens is very respectable for economics which I may do, thanks I did Latin for three years, but decided to give it up. I was offered the chance to do it at GCSE but I just didn't like it at all. Boring translation and conjugation, translation and conjugation ... decided I'd try out Spanish (think I did alright in the tests)Uzique wrote:
They have similar good performance in A-Levels too. Not sure why, must be the quality of the air over there .kylef wrote:

Shame you have to move to mainland UK to go to any decent Universities though .
Just kidding!
Ah, ok!ShadowsStrike wrote:

Just got word off a mate of mine, he got 3 actually passes, so hes kinda bombed it and has no chance of doing anything for a while Feel kinda bad for him though =/
How is it possible to fail GCSE's? It would actually be easier to fail at breathing.Phaytal wrote:

CCEA have posted their grade boundaries per paper. I have had the worst luck.
2.9 (uniform) marks off an A at maths
3 marks off an A at history
4 marks off a B at French
7 marks off an A at literature (bit of a long haul there)
a remark costs £22.50 (!!!) but I think I will get it done for maths. I'm pissed off

Unless as I said earlier in this thread you're some anal and obsessive student that is determined to make it his life mission to get into Oxbridge, in which case I'd suggest getting busy resitting/remarking most of your exams .

I always wanted to go Oxford. Get on the rowing team, yeeeeeeeeah.Uzique wrote:

I always liked Oxford more even though I've never been to either Uni.
Before I came to University I had no interest at all in rowing, I thought it was the most boring 'sport' in the world... and I still do.
You wouldn't believe how many people there get up at silly hours in the morning to go rowing though! I guess it's so ingrained in the history of the place because of the popular rivalry and the fact that the University and the colleges are literally surrounded by tons of places to row and get on the water. As I said though I have absolutely no interest whatsoever . I chose it because it was academically ranked higher than Cambridge for English. Durham at the time was actually ranked above both but I didn't want to move so far oop Norf!
But yeah as I was saying, don't do it Kyle! Unless you want to work in Maths or some related-area in which you need a specific maths skill... £22.50 just for a matter of pride is insanely expensive. A-Level resits were about a tenner when I did them! Not that I had to resit any exams of course :> Haha!
