The X1300 is a 4 pixel pipeline card. While a 4 pipeline card will run BF2 and some of the newer games, I wouldn't waste your money on one. The GeForce 6800 line are all great cards, and they even have options for AGP and PCIE while ATI has more or less given up on AGP. I would recommend getting a 256MB card instead of 128 if you can also, as this will make a pretty big difference in your frame rate on BF2 and also allow you to play some upcoming games that are going to need it.

The difference between the gt, gs, and ultra cards in the 6800 line is number of pixel pipes and core and  memory speeds. This is just my opinion but depending on how much you have to spend I wouldn't go for a card with less than 8 pixel pipes. Preferably 12 or 16 even though the price increases a lot when you get to the 16 pipe cards. Basically there isn't a HUGE difference between any of the GT, GS, or Ultra. But the LE and XT models are a lot slower.

i would suggest u get a 7800 gt, its about $80 difference between 6800 series, its more future proof and bang for the buck

i give this vote, although its not really future proof, a Direct X 10 card is future proof, but its definitely worth the extra $80 for 80% more performance

Certainly not the x1300 even compared to the x1600.... it would be close depending on the which 6800.

Go for the 7800 it's not much more currently, if you don't want to spend that much look at the x850 they are pretty cheap now but don't have alot of the new stuff, SM3.0 etc..

skip the 6 series mate, ur putting urself down by getting one of those, get a 7 series card the 7800GT is a fantastic card for the money and IS Vista DX10 ready, maybe not "uber" but it's the best bang for buck card out atm.. ATI are panning it imo, they just can't cut it atm. wait till the new 7900 series are released, then the 78 series cards will go down in price... if u can wait even longer wait for the G80 Cards to come out.. then it'll be cheap as chips. i'll be waiting till then to get another 7800GT to complete my SLi'ness

You should seriously think about the 7800 GTX.  I have this card and it absolutely screams through BF2.  No joke, I have all the video settings toi high and the AA at 4X.  No lag whatsoever!  It is a little more expensive than the 6800 you are considering but well worth the money.  Good luck!!

Consider (taking BFG into consideration for NVIDIA):

NVIDIA 6800 Ultra 256MB AGP ~$450
NVIDIA 6800 GT 256MB PCI-e ~$325
NVIDIA 7800 GT 256MB PCI-e ~$350
NVIDIA 7800 GTX 256MB PCI-e ~$500

ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256MB AGP ~$330
ATI Radeon X850 XT 256MB AGP ~$385
ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB PCI-e ~$460
ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB PCI-e ~$510

You'll have to look on your own for comparisons, but keep in mind that you may be better off dropping $150 on a new motherboard to accomodate a PCI-e card for the increased performance. Also take note that anything you buy now, even if it's dual Radeon X1900 XT 512MB's, will be sorely outdated at the end of the year. Sorry.

But I agree wholeheartedly with previous posters. The 7800 is definately worth paying for if you must upgrade now...if you want to be impatient like me (buying a 6800 Ultra AGP in Nov '04).
