Not quite yet but definitely a footstep in that direction. If America think they can handle a conflict in Iraq, a conflict in Afghanistan and a conflict against Russia all at the same time they are deluded. And you just know what's going on while all this shit is going down...Iran are quietly beavering away on their nuclear program.

USA #1! We can easily take on Russia! Hell throw in Iran too while we're at it! There's plenty of eager gamers ready and trained to accomplish the task!
What do ya'll propose we do? The US and Georgia are allies. It's kinda what allies do.
@chef:
How about some "Putin need to be tried for war crimes and this is illegal and illegitimate war! It's about the Oil!" statements.

The US needs to keep Georgian spirits up, and desire to join NATO alive, so that they'll have an ally close to Russia to put up their missile shield ground stations and weapon systems with. Russia needs to take South Ossetia to have less hostile airspace between them and said stations.
I'll put the popcorn on.IRONCHEF wrote:

I guess old Georgie Bush wants to go out with a bang, quite literally.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
It would be a sad day if we get to see WW3 as a result of the US deciding to back up a trouble-making Georgia. Russia have been heavy-handed but Georgia started this conflict. Why don't the US just condemn the initial Georgian invasion and use that as an excuse to not get involved? Do you really want to enter conflict with Russia given how rocky your economy is right now?DBBrinson1 wrote:

Anyways, the Russians haven't finished their military build up, so we still have a few years to build our bunkers.
I don't see the EU, Nato or the UN doing jack shit about it. Again, Georgia is our ally.Braddock wrote:

I really don't want the US to enter any conflict regardless of any economic situation.

Fuck Georgia. They've made their bed and they can lie in it as far as I'm concerned. As long as Russia remain within Georgian territory diplomacy should be used, the minute they expand further than that then we can talk about EU involvement.DBBrinson1 wrote:

I hope they dont kill me cause im asian, ill support communism when they invade usa, then later in the years, ill be training a secert army of awesome people, and they i will rise to be leader in the end.
Somehow I don't think we're going to see 'World in Conflict' yet.
Exactly. Or, given that we're following "France's" lead...and doing it for "humanitarian" purposes, those two huge red flags coming from Bush can only mean one thing...oil..or maybe bases for troops and a missile shield.KILLSWITCH wrote:

meh
Re edit: It's not our fight. If the Georgians where dumb enough to hit the Russians thats there problem. I dont want to get nuked because some dumb bastard in eastern europe thought he could mess with the Russians.

oh lordy I'm so naïve.
right maybe not let's just hope it sticks to humanitarian aid and not physical fights with the russians.

Can you people please stop pretending that Georgia started this with Russia? It was a internal dispute, the Russians are the ones who invaded another sovereign country on false pretexts.
Can you admit that South Ossetia had been enjoying de facto independence since their previous civil war and that Georgia initiated this current conflict by attempting a re-invasion on the opening day of the Olympics?Commie Killer wrote:

WWIII.. no.
@Bell, Georgians are no dumber than the Afghans. It will be your fight if the Russians keep flying bombers in NATO airspace.
UK airspace
The Coast of Alaska
The US Navy
