Nyte is pretty much right on the money. Camping snipers make easy targets, esp. if you know where to look. His guide is very similar to the way I play sniper. I can get tons of kills, but you have to be where the action is. I am sure that there are plenty of really accurate snipers with the "perfect spot", but i will out score them on a regular basis. If you have a quick reaction time and the pateince to aim of the head you will win most battles with other kits, but you have to be good with the knife.

yup good guide, i've started playing sniper more after 1.2 and i must say i also use these type of tactics.
I'll add one more thing you didn't mention.
Get good with the pistol and you will get yourself out of many sticky situations, the pistols are very good as long as you can fire them really fast and keep it accurate while doing it. US and chinese pistol are most accurate, but the MEC pistol is also good just make sure you aim it a little bit lower than where you want it to go, as the sights on it are slighty off. ( only use crosshairs if your in serious trouble, otherwise use the ironsights as you will have much more success).

My KPR with the sniper kit surpasses 12 by far these days. I've got a long time to make up for... for sitting around trying to find out what I liked to play most in the game... so my official KPR is still 9, but my longest kill STREAK is now at 37 (with all the weapons at my arsenal... rifle, pistol, claymores, knife... not just the rifle). I assume it's with a sniper kit, because that's pretty much all I play these days. My one before that was 22 (that I noticed), and that was definately with only the sniper and pistol.

1st account/second account mumbo jumbo isnt necessary..hell, last month I started a 2nd account and played it for a day or so just to see where I was at.... I felt 'dirty' even doing it.. but was pleased with results:)

Sorry to say but most of this stuff is common sence.
Enough with the common sense bullshit people... a lot of these guides people post are full of common sense. We should be glad someone wants to take the time to write a guide for those that don't realize the full potential of the sniper kit... maybe they miss some of the common sense.

Id say this is a pretty good guide, for the basics. Though Ive never heard of holding your breath before taking the shot... not outside reality. Even then though, I says its crap. They tell you to breath in, let half the breath out and fire. Good markmen develope their own posture and habits to control their aim under many conditions, to the point it becomes instinct. I think the same applies to games that try to resemble reality to a certain extent; theres comes a point where you are in such harmony with your skills and weapon that you know if that bullet is going to strike the target the moment you set off the charge, before the round even is halfway down range.
i can couldn't object to anyone who says that is good basic guide but certain things are missing. for example: enemy followers you can rid off by placing claymore behind you, etc.

However, in response to yours... I guess because of that infantry thing the plane thing shouldn't be in the guide. The author does point out that you should only take it if it's just sitting there, because it seems most snipers don't get into planes because they feel that's not their job. That's how vehicles get stolen. He also then says bail out and go back to sniping if you are gonna die. So I think it could go either way.
I mean you can't make a guide "How to get top Kills per round with 'fill-the-blank' kit: hop in a plane and rape!"

i use this tactic on killing fields server amo, and i can score over 100 points iar, i usually get around 30 kills, great guide!
