this is pretty classic.

question it all you want, but its been the standard in knife training for more than fifty years.
of course, they could be wrong

@GS-there are two main arteries going through that area. you get deep enough, shock kicks in and you bleed out it a matter of seconds.
im sure you have seen some nasty fucking gut wounds in your time, but this is a whole different beast than small arms wounds.

I just can't tell where it came from.

How can they say x second this artery? Couldn't it be more for some people, less for others? It doesn't look scientific at all.

seconds isnt instantly.  If its an arterial wound, regardless of shock, you still have up to a minute to bleed out.

but loss of consciousness from either shock or rapid blood loss, leave you pretty much dead anyway.
not technically, but you wont be doing anything except seeping blood till you do croak.

So they actually killed people? No haha. I would imagine they calculated the volume and pressure of those arteries, and knowing how much blood until someone goes unconscious/dies, just ran the numbers. There are a lot of variables.

It doesn't even matter if he wasn't stabbed in a critical location, 30-40 stab wounds to the chest is not something you can survive. Especially when the weapon is one of those kitchen knifes that have 6 inch blades.

A serious gut wound alone will kill you within 30 minutes if your not taken to hospital straight away, even then you still have a high mortality rate.

different.
the same in that neither being stabbed in the gut or stranded in a desert is an instant death.  Like I said in the first post replying, you could go into shock but thats not an instant death, especially if you are around anyone with medical knowledge.

I've yet to see you prove you know anything about knife wounds as well, so far you've given a .jpg image and a vague reference to something I can't be bothered googling.

If you make car tyres does that mean you know exactly how long it'd take to beat a man to death with said tyre?
