I grew up mostly without a dad (well, 16 and up) and I adjusted fine. But I also see the difference between me and others of all ethnicities who use it as an excuse to play victim and depression. Sadly, the OP is right and it's not new information, that blacks win in that category.

Wait what? No one wants to talk about the idea of children being raised without fathers? Where have you been the last 10 years, hiding in a cave?

Well regardless of race I think that the idea of a man meeting a woman with a child, evenutaly marrying her and raising the child as his own is a very noble thing to do. However, the problem with that is over time the honorable man is having less children and is therfore spreading less of a good gene while irresponsible men go and spread their seed only to have children who grow up and do the same thing. After several decades we find ourselves in a little bit of a social problem. I beleive that women who continue to have illegitimate children should be financially penalized, no rewarded. Then she is forced to earn and work harder to right her irresponsibility and provide for the children she has brought into this world. If she fails to care for them to a satisfactory standard then we take them away and bring them to a deserving stable family. Either way we cannot keep alowing women to live of the system with $28 per month public housing while they cram 4 kids into a Lexus with spinners while their boyfriend of 6 years shacks up in the house too collecting his own unemployment.

Around where I live I see more kids with mother/father families getting into more trouble than kids raised by single parents. I guess it all depends on how that single parent raises the child. Some single parents will try to teach the child to be "good" while other parents dont give a fuck and let their kids do w/e.
I was raised by a single parent, although I have never been arrested or charged with any crimes, I have done bad things. Mostly things to get money, that I regret now.

well to start off, i have lots of black friends and lots of white friends. im not trying to be a racist here, nor do i intend to do so. some of my good friends are non americans.
i think the reason why black people are having trouble being positive members of our society is because
a) society has literally programmed them to be negative
b) the status quo is perpetuated them to stop them from improving their lives.
racial inequality is a very hot topic, especially when i took a lot of sociology courses as an undergrad. there is no exact 100% solution to fixing the problem that blacks have. but there is a way for blacks and whites to reduce their problems and close the gap of social and economic inequality: ACCOUNTABILITY.
turn on your local news folks and look at the domestic crime happening in your hood. 90% of the time its black people committing murder, rape, extortion, robbery and so on. I used to live in a crime infested city, where things you see on local tv happen not to far from my house. rarely you see white people on your local news unless its very serious. in my opinion since the civil rights movement of the 1960's very little has changed for black people. yes black people have more rights now than before, but the attitude of white and black people hasnt changed all that much. and i am tired of hearing the rhetoric "OMG we black folks are poor because of the white man"i think black folks are accontable for their actions just as much as white folks.
society has brainwashed black people into wallowing in their problems: just looks at the media you look at everyday: music, TV, movies, literature and so on. the only way black people feel that they can do something positive, is something negative. as cruel and injust their actions is, its the only way for them to get around the "programmed status quo" . my self pesonally, i am tired of blacks and whites blaming each other and themselves for the problem, instead of fixing it.

I didnt read this thread except for the OP, but stop referring to it as the Black community and White community all you are doing is promoting segregation and referring to every black person having trouble in life. On topic, just look at poor people the majority of poor people you see are the minorty in this country and that isnt gonna cause anything but trouble for people who are poor who happen to be black.
